Great news!! An amazing human started fostering our dear Trick before the holidays! He has been loving being in her cozy office and is starting to become more confident as the weeks go by. He, like all rabbits, is a social creature that longs for company and respectful interaction. Once he feels fully safe and comfortable his personality will shine. We are so grateful for his fosters love and patience! His past was bleak when he was dumped outside and forgotten, but then he was rescued by two kind humans who contacted us to help him find his lifelong guardian. He has a bright future indeed!! Recently, we had the honor of having come visit us and finally meet in person! They have been a MASSIVE help to us and our animal friends over the years. From funding spays and neuters, unexpected surgeries, to food and supply costs, their support has been incredible. We cannot express how much help their supporters give us and countless other rescues and sanctuaries across our beautiful state. We were so excited to share our new goals and plans with them and look forward to our continued partnership in the future! ✨💛

We are in urgent need of fosters for some of our rabbit residents!
Our dear Trick is needing to have eye surgery soon and we could really use help from a kind human to give him a loving home temporarily while he heals. We are also looking for help giving a temporary home to our dear BunBun and Tommy! All of our rabbits are fixed, vaccinated and litterbox trained. We provide all the supplies the rabbits need and your training, you just provide a safe and loving home! Please contact us if you can help. We have been working on a new home for our rooster and duck friends all summer. So many kind humans stepped up to help. Their old run and house were far from our home and water source. Now they will be closer to us, so we can more efficiently care for them. They have been living in their new home for a couple of weeks now, and they love the covered space, trees and grass. This was possible because of the kindness and love of humans. Thank you, thank you, thank you for helping us make this happen!! 🥹💛✨

Wowww!! We are so humbled by the amazing support we received from and their supporters in the month of August for our refuge and animal friends!!! We have so many short term plans, and long term dreams and having such a loving and supportive community makes a huge difference. Humans amaze us everyday with how much good and love that we create and spread. We can do so much good and have so much compassion for our animal and human friends, if we take@the time to see and love. Thank you!!!

Our amazing kitty friends Sumi and Sullivan went into foster to adopt a couple weeks ago!!! We are so thankful that an amazing human found them on pet finder and reached out to us! They had been living at the refuge since they were found as stray babies with their mama over a year ago. Although we loved them to death, we have a bad car allergy. So we desperately needed to find a foster for them.

Thank you for helping to spread the word about our animal residents and rescue! We can only take in animals right now if we have an open foster home. We can provide all of the supplies, we just need kind humans to share their love and home with an animal in need. Please contact us if you can help in any way. 🙏🌈🤍

🤍✨ADOPTION ANNOUNCEMENT!!!✨🤍

Almost a year ago, these sweet boys were born at one of our amazing fosters home. Their mama, Maggie was a pregnant stray that desperately needed help. She gave birth to 8 babies, who have now all been adopted by their amazing lifelong guardians. We normally don’t take in cats, as we try to focus on domestic rabbits and farmed animals, so taking in so many cats has been a big learning experience for us. All of the kittens lived with incredible fosters before being adopted, and it really shows how much of a difference humans can make when we help each other!

Eugene and Waffles are best buddies and are happiest together, so when we were contacted by their adopter, we couldn’t have been more thankful that such a special human found them and wanted to adopt them together. Thank you for all the support and love we have received over the past year to help spread the word about these babies and their mama! They are all so happy in their forever homes now!

😻 FOSTER NEEDED 😻
We have been fostering these two sweethearts, here at Haven Hollow since they were kittens. Unfortunately allergies have become too much to live with in our home and we desperately need to find a loving foster for them while they await adoption. We have been told multiple times that Sumi and Sullivan are the sweetest cats people have ever met. They truly are special souls and it has been such an honor to live along side them for the past year. They are very patient with gentle children and are used to an active home where they are always respected and loved. Sumi is the definition of a lap cat, she is always looking for cuddles and wants to give you lots of kisses. Sullivan is a total softy that loves cuddles as well and will purr his heart out when he likes you. They have both been fixed, vaccinated and microchipped. It’s been over three years since we have been able to bring in our adoptable rabbits to our local . When the RHDV2 virus made its way through the western U.S. back in 2020, it was so lethal and contagious that PetSmart had to stop all rabbits from entering their stores across the US. Thankfully the Medgene RHDV2 vaccine is available throughout the US now to protect our rabbit friends!
Bringing our adoptable rabbits into PetSmart greatly increases their chances of finding their lifelong guardian and new fosters as well, so we are so grateful to be back!

We watch our rabbits closely to insure they feel comfortable and safe in public spaces and only use these opportunities for visibility and education, not for same day adoptions. We never allow the rabbits to disrespected or touched if they don’t want to be touched. This was their first time being in a store and were very curious about all of the new sights and smells. We hope to come back soon, so stay tuned when we will be there next and we hope you will come say hi!

We are so honored and grateful to have our nonprofit be sponsored by for the month of August!!!
This couldn’t come at a better time with all of the transitions and plans happening right now for our organization and animal residents.

🐤We are in the process of building a new run with some of our scrap wood at the refuge for the birds. We even have plans for an awesome duck pond for our duck friends!

🐏 We are in need of getting some shears for our two sheep. We shear them twice a year to make sure they are always comfortable with our warm summers and need to shear them again this month.

🐰😸We also need to take our cat and rabbit residents into the vet to get their vaccine boosters this month. We vaccinate our rabbits for RHDV2 which is a highly lethal and contagious virus that is in Idaho and all the surrounding states. We also vaccinate our cats for Rabies and FVRCP to help make sure they are happy, healthy and ready for adoption!

🌱We also need to purchase our hay and straw for winter very soon. We usually purchase about 20 bales of hay and 20 bales of straw for the winter, which comes out to around $250.

These are some of most pressing needs for our animal friends here at Haven Hollow. Our animals residents are all available for adoption, but if they never meet the right human, they will always have a home here with us. 💛 Thank you for your continued love and support for us here in SE Idaho! This month, Vegan Legion is excited to support an awesome sanctuary located in Shelley, Idaho.

Haven Hollow Animal Refuge is a community-driven sanctuary striving to foster connections between people, animals, and the planet through education and advocacy.

Working mostly with rabbits, Haven Hollow has also opened their doors to a few Icelandic sheep, roosters, and cats. And while Haven Hollow works to save animals from abusive and neglectful situations, they also work closely with the community to foster and adopt their animals into safe, loving homes.

Our sweet kitty friend Blot has been officially adopted by our amazing board member Rissa! He is so happy and loving his new life and family! Blot was born last summer after we rescued his mama that was a stray. He and most of his eight siblings have been adopted, but his brothers Eugene and Waffles are still looking for their lifelong guardian as a bonded pair (their best friends)!

We’re so happy for Mr. Blot and Rissa and know they have many many happy years together!

We lost our dear friend Karl the other day. He was a special soul with such a fiery passion for life. He loved to explore and play. He also loved to cuddle with the humans while enjoying feeling like he ruled the world as he sat on our shoulders. He was barely a year old and had so much more life to live, but he taught us so much in the short amount of time he was with us. It was truly so special to care for him and be his friend. He taught us that even the territorial and aggressive roosters breeds can have such complex personalities and tender hearts. We recently had the opportunity to visit with some of the amazing kids and teachers at one of our local charter schools ! The class we visited chose Haven Hollow as their class charity to research and support as part of their Community Unit at school. We were so honored that they wanted to help support our mission and animal friends! They made some amazing flyers, posters and slideshows to share with their friends and family and we can’t wait to share some photos of them soon. Kids never stop amazing us at how much they care and want to make a difference for the lives of animals, no matter the species. 🤍🌼

Meet Atlas! He is a one year old Netherland dwarf rabbit. He is neutered and litter box trained. His current guardian rescued him from a bad situation and is looking for a lifelong guardian that can give him the life he deserves. He is very food motivated and would need a guardian that will be patient as he becomes more confident and trusting of humans. He would do best in a quiet home with little interaction with kids so he can feel safe enough to let his guard down and his loving and social personality shine! 🤍 “Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world.”
Rabbits are often misunderstood and easily forgotten which leads to neglect as they suffer in silence.. But they are incredibly social animals with so much more potential then to just stay in a little cage all day!
Once they feel safe, they love to be with humans and other safe and gentle animals. They love to play with toys, explore, jump, climb, run and do zoomies, play games, binky, learn tricks, cuddle, listen to music, and of course eat their favorite foods! They also often live 10-15 years when they live indoors with guardians who help them thrive!

🤍 We are so thankful for the fosters and our team and the kind human that tried to find a good home for him so that we could give him another chance at a good life. All animals and humans deserve this, and we believe when we look out for eachother as a community we can make a big difference, even if it’s just helping to change the life for a little bunny, it means everything to that bunny.

💛 We had the opportunity to visit the amazing animals and humans at yesterday! Their team does incredible work being a voice and home for rescued farmed animals in Utah and abroad. We learned so much as we worked along side them to care for some of their animal residents. Witnessing their animals beautiful souls was so nurturing to our hearts as well. We highly recommend volunteering or visiting!
