What is an Exotic Bully?

The Exotic Bully is a newer designer dog breed that began to distance itself from the American Bully as early as 2008. It has established itself as separate from it’s cousin the American Bully and is still a controversial topic with much needed breed standards.

One of the few descriptions or characteristics of the Exotic Bully that everyone involved with the breed seemed to agree upon was “exaggerated style of features on a smaller, more compact dog,” described as carrying more “bulldog features.”

The American Bully is a happy, confident, and loving companion!

It is safe to say that although this breed possesses an impressive stature, with defined muscles and a strong build, they are very, very sweet-hearted and have a soft temperament.

This breed does well in family environments, thriving in homes with extra outdoor space.

Despite their name, the Bully was first bred with the purpose to remove the aggressive traits which can be carried through Pitbull breeds.

Bullies Are Awesome With Kids

American Bullies that are well trained and appropriately treated are generally great pets for children. They can handle rough and tumble play without getting scared or aggressive in return. Something to consider is that they are stoutly built, which makes them liable to knock over small or uncoordinated children. Not to mention that they love to cuddle like big stuffed animals. All that being said, it is still best to train your child how to interact with the dog to avoid any harmful interactions.

The American Bully is a companion breed exhibiting confidence, a zest for life, along with an exuberant will to please and companionship with their family.

This making the American Bully an excellent family companion.

Despite the American Bully’s fierce and powerful appearance their demeanor is gentle and great with kids. They are friendly with strangers, other dogs, and other animals. Human or dog aggression, extreme shyness or viciousness is very uncharacteristic of the American Bully and is highly undesirable.
