When people ask David why he likes keeping fishes, he asks why not? ๐๐
David, or Fishtankdaddy as he is better known, began his tryst with fishes with a couple of crayfish from an aquarium shop in 2015. As it happened, without proper research, that turned out to be a disaster. ๐ฅ
Initially, he kept crayfish in a bowl together, not realising that they were cannibalistic in nature and they ended up killing each other!๐
He then got wiser and started researching how to keep the fish better, what species to keep and most importantly, what not to do! โบ๏ธ๐ฟ๐บ
Fishare some of the most abused species as pets on the planet. Imagine being confined to a small bowl from within which you see only a convex world all the time, without any companions or maybe just a plastic plant, doomed to either too much warmth or chilled water. ๐ฅบ
More often than not, they are just tossed some pellets of fish food and nothing more!!
David has been vocal about the need to ensure the physical wellbeing of our pet fishes, treating them as beings that need a healthy ecosystem to survive in, rather than as showpieces.
They should be able to thrive, not just to survive! They deserve this planet and a home of their own just as much as we do. ๐ ๐
David looked up YouTube and other sites, trying to find the best way to keep the fish. It also took some reading into what types of fish to keep and which survive in our climate and which fish belong together. ๐๐
He started off afresh with a fighter fish, then on to beta fish and guppies and shrimp.
It just got bigger and better!
His first project was a tank that he set up with a friend, then word of mouth spread and there was another, and another. A notable one was the paludarium that he set up for @Cafeyonder his largest so far! โบ๏ธโบ๏ธ๐ช
David now has five tanks at home and manages many others. For fish need maintenance like any other and Fishtankdaddy loves his kids! ๐๐๐
Thank you @fishtankdaddy fo
A year ago, a little furball of joy called Solo came in our lives changing everything and bringing positivity. ๐๐๐
Solo is named after a legendary tigress in Madhya Pradesh. He is a super friendly dog who can befriend absolutely anyone!
Solo's favorite food is human food. He is less dog and more human. He loves going on road trips and barking at horses. ๐๐๐๐
He loves playing with cats but cats don't feel the same tho:) ๐๐๐
Unlike other dogs he prefers to sleep on the bed with us under the AC.
Everytime we come home all we see is him with shining eyes and a toy in his mouth begging us to play with him!!
๐งธ
His favorite game is running around and flexing his speed. He is not like other beagles, he can't fight back because he is calm and gentle with other dogs.๐๐๐
Solo has become and important part of our lives. He is pretty mischievous but never at the wrong time. Solo deserves the same unconditional love he gives us and we try to do our best for our little cookie:)

It all happened so fast!
Pawpaw was always a dog lover and dogs loved him back equally. Mama was a dog person too but she always appreciated them from a distance. So one fine day, she thought the best way to overcome her fear of dogs, is to embrace one, literally. So mama and pawpaw started discussing this in the end of January 2022.
Meanwhile, there was a small black and white Indie pupper, at the NICE road waiting to be rescued in September 2021. Life was not easy for him. When he was rescued, he was suffering from Parvo Virus and a dog bite. He is a fighter and a survivor! And also someone who won hearts of everyone he met, not just with his spirit but his cute complains and the extreme tail wagging. This pupper was named Nippatu.
Nippatu kicked Parvoโs ass and got cured of the dog bite and then started the journey of his search for hoe furโeverโ pawmily. He received immense love from his foster families but also had one failed adoption. Anyone who has met Nippatu, knows that if anyone could survive so many things within the 1st 5 months of his life, there is no better candidate that Nippatu.
Back to Mama and Pawpaw, who casually explored an online adoption event by Walkai rescuses where Nippatu was one of the 10 puppies available for adoption. Mama and Pawpaw, somehow kept referring to Nippatu post the event because he caught their attention.
After multiple conversations with Walkai rescues, Mama and Pawpaw visited Nippatu. He welcomed them with barking. Mama was a little scared and pawpaw thought this will not go through. At the end of the 45 mins of our meeting, Nippatu warmed up to Mama and kept close to her.
Of course, with Nippatu, there had to be a twist. Mama and Pawpaw wanted to bring sir home in the 3rd meeting, in the second week of February (13th Feb, 2022) but alas, Mama fell terribly ill. They wanted to wait for a couple of weeks before bringing him in, but that also meant he would be a part of an upcoming adoption event.

Woof! Say Hello to Pablo Escobark! Here is this wonderful boy's story, loved and molly coddled by mommies Shreya and Shweta and the whole WhySoBlue fam! ๐
This dapper dresser ๐งฅ, bird watcher and snuggle lover was rescued on November 28, three years ago. This little pupper, with a cute button nose and baby ears, had been tied to a tree and left alone. ๐
However, he came as a blessing into our lives. Honestly, he's the reason we're all so close. Before we all worked together at WhySoBlue, we had 3 bedrooms, 3 devices and 3 people. But this crazy ball of energy brought my family together.๐ ๐
We met Pabs through Instagram - we wanted an Indie (adopt, don't shop!) and it was the one thing my entire family agreed on. One week later, we had a puppy in need of love sleeping in our bed, the apple of our eye, showered with pets, hugs, toys and food. ๐ค๐งธ
No, he's not as fluffy as a golden, or as exotic as a husky. He looks like any of the strays he plays with, and he's the MOST PERFECT dog to me โจโจ๐
Now, all grown up and ruggedly handsome, this pupper is the proud owner of the floppiest ears and boopiest nose in town! (Boop, boop)
He often accompanies his hoomans to our workspace to keep a watchful eye on us as he naps, and gets his share of cuddles and treats! Occasionally, he condescends to model for us and doesn't mind new clothes. ๐งฃ๐ฝ
BTW, he believes Blue is his colour (of course) ๐๐๐
Just like us, he loves the beach, and we just can't forget the wonder, excitement and sheer happiness on his face! ๐๏ธ๐ด
P.S. If you ever meet him, remember he loves his chimken and yogurt!๐
Thank you, Team WhySoBlue, for sharing Pablo's heartwarming story with us! We woof you ๐๐๐

๐Raju came into our lives before the second lockdown in March 2021, in a town called Talegaon near Pune.
I was on my morning walk, and I saw him alone and drenched in dirty gutter water, near a very busy road. Found some paneer from a dairy and fed him. ๐๐๐
Couldn't get him out of my head. He was tiny, barely 4-5 weeks old, and was alone, shivering.๐ฅบ
So I went again in the evening with my husband. We asked a few local shops about him - whether his mother or siblings were around. All of them said he had appeared only that day, and had just been whining and shivering all the time!๐
So we took him straight to the vet, and back home armed with medicated shampoo, anti tick flea powder, and antibiotics for his patchy fur.
We thought we'd foster him to recovery and put him up for adoption, but then COVID second wave happened, and we just ended up making him part of our family forever โฅ๏ธ
Thank you for sharing good Boy Raju's amazing amd touching story with us! Woof you loads! ๐๐ Much love from the Pawket family across the miles

Cats or Dogs ? Who would be better politicians ?
This little village in Alaska are definitely leaning towards cats being the better politicians ๐บ
For over 20 years, the mayor of their town was a ginger catto called Stubb! ๐
A mayor as cute and cuddly as Major Stubbs - Iโm sure living in sub zero temperatures would totally be worth that experience :D

Catrina and the reluctant Cat Mom.
Little Catrina made up her mind the moment she saw me...."This is the hooman I shall lord over and make her serve meals and make sure I get the correct spa treatments."
Well, she took a while deciding if I was the right candidate or not.
The little Lady was left out by her owners around the time when there were rumours floating about animals being Covid carriers.
The lady sat in shock for a couple of days outside her home and the neighbours tried feeding her but she wouldn't eat. :(
I passed that way on my walks every day and tried to cajole her into eating something. Now I was never a cat person as such, more of a dog one. But I tried making overtures so she would eat, in my own clumsy way.
However, the third day she decided I was just about the right amount of servile to be her valet, feeder, groomer and general caretaker from then on, and she condescended to accept a few bits of fish. ๐๐
The next day I gingerly carried her home, much to the disgust and looks of disdain from my dogs. However, they seemed to understand that it was a special case and none of my fosters were hostile to her. โญ๐
Well, thatโs about it, since then I have been initial reluctant and now doting parent to a moody, lazy, and haughty cat who does exactly as she pleases and demands her space.
However her one sign of affection is when I pack my bags to travel and she sort of tries sneaking into the suitcase.
Once I am back, she stalks me everywhere for a couple of days to ensure I don't slip away again.
Thank you for sharing Her Highnessesโs story with us, Cat Mom! ๐

Hi I am Chai Chai! I know it might be weird for you to see me having biscuits but again no one ever has accused us cats of being totally sane!
We do what we do ๐๐.
Though I prefer sweetmeats, my hoomans give me sugar-free crackers now-a-days.
However, I let it pass because they love me! ๐ธ๐
By the way, would you mind smuggling me some biscuits? ๐ฑ

Life is good when you have siblings!
Fight them, bite them,
Roll on the ground with them.
Team up for treats
Or dance to doggo beats.
Drive your hoomans crazy
Or be just plain lazy,
Its always great to have a partner in crime
And that's the end of our siblings rhyme!

Jackson is one cool Pupper, who likes to chill out with long car rides, take his walks and come home to sips of cold flavoured Amul milk. The avid cuddler and foodie pupper also loves grapes, bananas, dry fruits and kheer (preferably fed by mum)! ๐ถ๐ฅฃ๐ง
This proverbial spoilt baby is never happier than when being cuddled and goes into prolonged sulks if deprived of walks with my mom and my brother. ๐
By the way, this tiny huskie can almost speak and makes himself heard quite audibly when he is asked to do something he does not like!
Jackson is the centre of our family, particularly for my grandpa, who considers him his grandson. All he wants to do is to be around people and of course, ask for treats!

When Martini came could Portia be far behind? ๐ We had never dreamt of having a dog, let alone two! But the lady Portia and the naughty Martini found their way into our hearts. Then on our sofas, the beds and are now royalty in general.
Portia was one of the Indies outside our house and very fond of me. A complete daddyโs girl. โค๏ธ
When their mother became pregnant, the house opposite ours allowed her to deliver six puppies in their compound.
When the puppies were delivered, my wife Chandreyee decided to adopt Martini. And I insisted on having Portia too.
Just like parents need to make a lot of adjustments after the birth of babies, we had to make changes in our life.
My wife and I had demanding jobs. So, we spoke to the other residents in our building and made a makeshift kennel in the common area.
We put them in the kennel along with food. The security personnel used to keep an eye on them and feed them. At night, we used to bring them back home. They happily adapted to our lifestyle.
Martini has always been a quiet, sedate child. Portia, on the other hand, has been dominating one. The alpha woman. She is fearless.
At the slightest sound of thunder, Martini will cower in a corner. But Portia will bravely stroll on the balcony like Wonder Woman and enjoy the downpour. ๐โ๐ฆบ
Portia makes no fuss about anything edible and no desire to watch the calories.
However, Martini is the gourmet, extremely choosy and we need to plead with him to finish off his food. ๐ฒ
He is the shy one. But Portia will come forward and shake a dainty paw with visitors.
Recently, we decided to bring another Indie, Coffee, into our home.
But that's a story for another day. Watch this space!

He came in as a tiny 6-week-old pupper, and ruled the household, roaming around as if he had known us all his life. ๐
Pugsy came at a particularly stressful time for us, and took over our lives and hearts. My son Abhik had always wanted a dog and I thought this was an ideal time.
He was a particular blessing for my mother, who lived alone across the street. After my father died, she found a renewed sense of purpose in her life when she was entrusted with taking care of Pugsy as his 'puppysitter'. ๐โ๐ฆบ
Soon, she introduced herself as Pugsy's grandmother rather than my mother! Pugsy also got bhai phonta (the ritual of placing a dot on a brother's forehead in Bengal). He went for walks with her, sulked when she was not around to feed him, and hopped onto rickshaws with her. He became the ideal grandson who likes a bit of mishti, sandesh, rosogolla or mishti doi, as dessert.๐ง๐ซ
A few things about Pugsy:
He does not believe he is a dog, believing himself to be a human, and is very aloof towards other dogs. He is also very British, with an impeccable sense of timing!
He bosses over me, not letting me sleep beyond or before my time, barking, and almost scolding me (except when I am ill).โฑ๏ธ
He knows when a family member is sick and sits beside the person's bed and does not budge.
With Abhik, he knows when to be silent and lie in the room quietly with him. They're like siblings with a quiet understanding between them. He greets my husband with a particular affectionate noise. (Woof)
As for my mother-in-law, she pampers Pugsy a lot, particularly at mealtimes. ๐ฆด
Though having a pet means we can't go on holidays together, it is worth every moment, and we cherish him all our lives. Our children grow up, but Pugsies never do and remain close all our lives. โค๏ธ

It is just over a year ago today that we brought Bigu home from @ashrescue. He was named Bentley then, but it just didn't go with the hyperactive puppy who was destroying my plants and nervously crying when left alone.
A year later, Bigu has his own routine that he daintily follows.
He gets up, comes upstairs to say hi to us, then sits on the sofa on his neighbourhood watch till afternoon.
He is the aunty who knows all the neighbourhood gossip.
He prefers his afternoon nap alone on a single bed with sun coming in, undisturbed by humans. Walks with daddy in the afternoons are the highlight of his day! ๐โ๐ฆบ
We have seen our share of noncooperation from him, specially when his access to the sofa is denied, but I cannot imagine getting through the pandemic without him.
Pandemic life has been made bearable by his company, his love, his companionship, and his thousand little naughty deeds.
Bigu gets loads of extra treats and extra walks if he plays his cuteness card well! ๐๐๐

I've never been a cat person, never found them to be friendly or responsive, even. Then along came Miranda - a stray cat we discovered down my lane just a year ago.
She would be minding her own business, sprawled outside the building gate, unimpressed, or sunning her paws in the afternoon. And every time I stopped by she would interact with me.
Lockdown started soon after, and she was my only friend outside the house, and my daily respite (thrice daily, rather).
We'd have conversations over back rubs. I knew her visiting timings (she was a late riser) , and she would actually wait eagerly and come plodding over to me every time like a loyal dog, it was adorable. I rarely gave her any food. She was in it purely for love.
Once, after a cyclone, we went down to check on her in the evening and suddenly she came darting out of nowhere and dashed towards my legs as if to say "where have you been?? ", the poor thing was shaking from the storm & somehow seemed comforted by me.
We had to move cities 3 months ago, and it broke our heart to leave M. I asked a vet or two and the consensus was that she'd be better off left in her natural environment. We would've loved to have her plonking about our home.
We left, knowing that she was fed by people and was quite a queen in the neighbourhood. And 2 months later, my sister paid her a visit and we were thrilled to see her again, over video call, just to watch her getting a few back scratches.
Stay safe, stay crazy, M.

Our older dog, Doobie, has a thing for "claiming humans". If you've met her standards of approval, she will jump on to your lap to use you as a chair. You should expect that you will be endlessly grateful for this valuable opportunity.
Her stringent standards of approval include the willingness to give her endless head and chest rubs, the capacity to take her xx-kilo weight on your lap for as much time as she grants you, and not flinching as she shifts her weight or if her claws dig into your thighs or knees. One of her daughters, Bubble, also lives with us and though she usually wants to do everything Doobie does, even she's resigned herself to the fact that only Doobie gets to claim humans.
Doobie came into our life when Vishu (@papatripping) got her home originally for his father, who loves dogs but realised he doesn't really want to have one around full-time. So before Vishu got hitched to me (@onegirlsdesign), his studio was pretty much overrun by other bachelor boys goofing around on most days. The band of boys totally spoiled Doobie โ pretty much the only girl in the house at that time โ who in return, would climb into their laps when not chewing on their T-shirts or even chomping on their mobile phones. This has continued till date and though Doobie is no longer the hyperactive pup she once was, she continues her legacy of claiming humans. And each of the humans in return is well aware that they have been blessed by the presence of Doobie so up, close and personal!

Leo was found in a box next to my local chemist. He was fragile and covered in dirt, grease, and even staple pins from dragging himself on the street. I immediately picked him up and, without a second thought, rushed him to my local vet Dr. Priya. She explained that he had a broken spine since over 24 hours ago and was paralyzed waist down. Surgery was not an option for him, so we got him the next best thing - intramuscular injections and a lot of medication every day over the next 2 to 3 months. However, after everything, he was still unable to walk.
Caring for Leo at home had many minor details we needed to ensure. A common problem with animals paralyzed waist down is their body does not indicate to them the sensation of peeing or pooping. To prevent a urine infection, we took turns 2-3 times a day to press his stomach and ensure he relieved urine. However, his recovery was still prolonged because he was just not eating. Dr. Priya suggested that we get him specific animal recovery food, which was high in protein and fat. This helps the animals bulk up their muscles and recover faster. Lo behold, he loved it. Slowly he started putting on weight and even eating kibble and wet food. This was such a relief!
It truly is amazing what a little bit of love and care can do for these animals. Leo is now a 3-year-old happy baby. My sister, dad, and I all learned how to relieve his peeing to keep him comfortable. He is now a handsome boy whose front legs are very strong. He can do anything other cats can do - jump on beds, sofas, play with toys, et al. He makes us all very happy and has changed our lives forever! I would like to urge more people to take care of an ailing animal instead of abandoning them. It's really not hard if you treat them with a bit of love.

This is how Bhusaji found me!
I have a woodworking studio, and as you can imagine, this is a noisy, dusty place with all sorts of material and sawdust lying around. One day, in the midst of this chaos, we had a visitor. He waltzed in and plonked himself on a pile of sawdust, and slept peacefully. We named him Bhusaji, after sawdust.
Soon he was a regular visitor. On days when our door was closed, we would often hear someone knock, only to find Bhusu outside! He would come in and play in the sawdust and sleep. When it would be time for me to go home, he would try to climb into my car in hopes of coming home with me. When this wouldn't work, he would follow the car until the lane's end to say his goodbyes.
One of the guards in the area would hit him occasionally. I tried talking to him about it, but it didn't help. I contacted NGOs, but they said relocating him or putting him in a center would not be good for him. One day it turned out that this guard had hurt him, and he disappeared for a while. We didn't think he'd come back, but the next day he reappeared and ran behind my car all the way home, about 1.5km. It was one of those freak storms in the middle of september and the rain was really coming down.
He just followed me up the stairs into our home. Obviously, my mother was shocked and was about to drop a bit fat โNO!โ but she looked into his big brown eyes and said we'll keep him. I didn't even have to ask! He seemed extremely content to be there. After eating and sleeping a while, he sat by the door like he was waiting to get out. We thought that maybe he's done and wants to go back now, so we let him out and watched him from the window. He walked outside to a tree, peed, and came back home! All we could do was stare at each other in astonishment. This dog was toilet trained!
Since that day Bhusu has been living with us. He treats me like a sibling or a chew toy. I've wanted a pet dog all my life and now I've been replaced as the favourite child of th
Noora & Weber
The day we foster-rescued Weber, he had just freshly been brought from Texas all the way to New York City. Coming out of the truck, he was very scared but calm and majestic as he is. We walked him home, all the while thinking he was the most perfect and obedient boy.
As we got home, we realized he was terrified of the wooden stairs in our apartment, so we carried him up the stairs. He went straight to the carpet and sat down, not moving or engaging with us at all. We managed to get him to eat a little, after which he just slept in the same spot. We knew he was rescued but honestly, we were both disappointed at first that he was not a "normal" dog. Was he abused? Did his owner die? Did he run away? The rescuers didn't know. So we decided we just had to be patient.
We would carry Weber, this huge German Shepherd, up and down the stairs to go outside for walks. We put blankets all over the apartment so he could walk comfortably. Day by day, I started to train him. I did research on German Shepherds and found that they respond better to stinky treats like cheese or sausage rather than plain milk biscuits. Slowly, he started responding to his name. He started walking, and soon he was running around and playing with toys!
The lesson learned for us is that time is required for healing. We realized that dogs go through a lot, and not all dogs are cute and cuddly. And this dog, who had clearly been through something, just needed time to recover and slowly trust us. It was hard at first, but we don't regret a thing. And I can say with confidence that Charlie and I are the most embarrassing doggy parents. If there was a secret camera in the house, they'd see how much we shower him with love, and that's what helped him to open up to us.
We love him so much and were on the verge of adopting him, but it's just not feasible for us to take care of him long-term. He is such an angel, and whoever adopts him will be the asolute luckiest.
Thank you Charlie & Noora for sharing
