Last year she had quads and was this size at kidding. I can’t imagine her having more than that

Most exciting garden find to date!!
Started a small patch of asparagus from seed last year and we FINALLY have our first spears!
Now just one more year to go and I ‘might’ have enough to make one dish of roasted asparagus for our family 😂
Want something that truly teaches you patience, grow asparagus.
A few years from now hopefully I will be very grateful that I took those few minutes to plant these seeds.

—The secret of life is this: The cow does not give milk. "What are you saying?" Asked the boy incredulously. —As you hear it, son: The cow does not give milk, you have to milk it. You have to get up at 4 in the morning, go to the field, walk through the corral full of excrement, tie the tail and legs of the cow, sit on the bench, place the bucket and do the work your self..
That is the secret of life, the cow does not give milk. You milk her or you don't get milk. There is this generation that thinks that cows GIVE milk. That things are automatic and free: their mentality is that if "I wish, I ask, and I obtain."

" They have been accustomed to get what ever they want the easy way... No, life is not a matter of wishing, asking and obtaining. The things that one receives are the effort of what one does. Happiness is the result of effort. Lack of effort creates frustration.

So, remember to share with your children, from a young age, the secret of life. So they don't grow with mentality that the government, their parents, or their cute little faces is going to give them everything they need in life.
Remember,
“Cows don't give milk. You have to work for it"

Well in our case a goat, but I truly feel this is one of the most important lessons my children will learn from our journey with goats 🐐

Out with the old and in with the new!
The ladies got a very overdue upgrade finally. Still needing to add the automatic coop door and some windows for additional ventilation, but off to a good start!

Our little playhouse coop served us well for the last 6 years. I will miss how cute she was, but I will NOT miss crawling through this tiny child sized door to collect eggs!
