Congratulations to Rasmus on earning his Novice Sprinter title today at Guides Canins.

Artemis, BG and friend Piper got to play as well. Each one working towards their next title but ultimately just having a blast chasing the plastic rabbit.

Last week of school and that means last therapy dog session for Artemis. Summer break!

UPDATE - APPLICATIONS CLOSED. The group will take some time to review all applications and get back to all applicants by end of next week.

The FSSC Rescue is now taking applications for Miss Bonnie - Bonnie is a lovely, cuddly 8 year old Field Spaniel looking for her retirement home.

Bonnie would do well in a home where someone is home most days. Ideally a retired family. Please see the lovely write up her foster Mom has written for her.

She is currently located in Ontario and it would be great to find a home between Toronto and Ottawa.

BG and Artemis had a blast playing Sprinter today. Thank you to the Whippet Club of Eastern Canada for a fun well run event.

BG tried her hand at Veteran Sprinter and earned her Veteran Novice Sprinter with 2 awesome runs - 11.1 & 10.3 seconds (Pending CKC approval)! She was so happy to be out playing.

Artemis was just as excited to chase the lure today and remained steady with 2 runs of 12.9 & 12.8.

Sprinter is a fun event any dog can participate in., even the veteran dogs :)

A fun day for Pemberley at the Champlain Dog Show. Rasmus was Best of Breed for both shows today but some big congrats go out to Miss Juniper on taking WB and BOS in both shows earning a major over her Grandma and points towards her Championship.

Miss Cider at 11 months showed well and earned some great ring experience. She was also a good Fieldie ambassador greeting the public.

And Kaitlyn does it again - Best Overall Junior Handler! (Official photo to come). She handled Rasmus beautifully in a lovely line up of juniors.

A long but worthwhile day :)

Congratulations to Artemis (on the right) who earned her Rally Excellent title yesterday and placed in all four of her runs also earning her first double qualifying score towards her Rally Advanced Excellent title.

This means a name change for Artemis :)

Meet Kiwi. She is a 3 year old Field Spaniel who recently came into rescue with FSSC. We are now taking applications to find her a forever home. She is currently in the Ottawa area. See her write up below. For any interest, please email [email protected]

Kiwi is a 3 year old female field spaniel. She is a nervous girl and looking for a home that will continue to help build her confidence.

She is very food motivated and loves snuggles.
She is not reactive to seeing dogs but if they invade her space too much she may growl.
She would do well living with another dog that is easy going, but will need the human to take it slow as she will resource guard (Space, her person) until she knows the dog well.

She is the absolute sweetest snuggliest girl ever. She would happily stay snuggled up binge watching any TV series. She gets excited to go on car rides and is very good in the car - will just lay down in the back seat. She can be a bit nervous coming out of the car but getting better with each positive adventure.

She loves to go on walks and does fairly well on leash (not a big puller but zig zags)

Low-medium energy. She will keep up on adventures but happy to sleep all day too.

Older calm respectful kids to teens could be fine, but she does spook easily.

Working on not running out the door when it is open so this is something to keep in mind if there’s kids or a busy household.

No reaction to seeing cats but isn’t being fostered with any.

Not destructive when left alone but may cry.

Ideal home: retired couple that will go on leisurely walks with her and let her snuggle on the couch with them. Possibly with another laid back dog.
