Hello all! I hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas and fingers crossed for a great new year for everybody ❤️

This Christmas period was especially hectic for us however we are still here and I am hoping across the next few days to arrange kitten collections as now both litters are ready to leave. I can’t believe how quickly that has gone! Everyday they’ve been spoilt and played with despite me running round like a little bee.

I will have to state though due to the current Covid spikes all kitten collections this time round will be social distance collection only. I am also pregnant so this is an extra safety measure to keep me and my baby girl safe. I am requesting people wear masks on collection. This also keeps everybody else safe who are collecting kittens. I am happy for people to still see mum and dad on the doorstep and i will still take pictures/ videos of my sets up and of the ratties receiving a full health check before they leave. I hate to do it this way as I do know people like to see where the ratties have grown up 🙂 I’ve only two large cages (2 maternity cages as well for the little ones) I’m not a huge breeder I breed to keep back for me and any that are pet homed are ratties that don’t quite fit my breeding programme. I cannot keep them all but sometimes it does feel like I want to 😂 kittens with still leave treated with spot on and wormer and with the lifetime of support that I always offer 🙂 i waited to send kittens to pet homes a little longer to ensure they weren’t just bought as impulse Christmas presents as well. Rats are for life. I know most if not all of you collecting though have been waiting long before Christmas 🙂 I hope everybody is in good spirits after a wonderful Christmas and feeling well. If for any reason you can no longer have your rat kittens please let me know as soon as possible. I’m not here to judge I know circumstances change and it does happen. Like I said I will be contacting everybody as soon as I can as well 🙂

*kitten update*

It has been a little while since I’ve posted an update but everyday the kittens have still been played with and socialised and boy are they chaotic now! 😂 We have now picked out our allocated keeper kittens so I will be making my way through what is available after finalising people on my waiting list. This post is of my keeper girls. I am also keeping a Russian Blue buck named Ramé Alex.

Big cage all set up and secured for the girl rittens. Boys will be staying in the narrow bar with grandad potato so he can teach them how to rat for the next few weeks before they all leave for their new homes. Will post some pictures of everybody at play time tonight, it is very chaotic now 😂 ❤️

Our other litter opened their eyes today ❤️ this pairing was Ramé Ruby x Ramé Rasputin.

Ruby is Rogues Full sister and gave a much bigger variety of colours. She had a natural size litter of 6 and did incredibly well. They are slightly younger then rogues and after rogue wasn’t 100% I kept a close eye on these ones just in case but safe to say Ruby is a far better mother. She is also doing well in her self and bouncing around playing when I’m handling the babies without a problem. She gives me lots of kisses just like rogue does. Sadly the only boys in this litter are the two black boys and the other 4 are all girls. I am not currently decided on which girls I will be keeping but I am definitely keeping some back however despite the 2 boys being really sweet I don’t need anymore black bucks so they will be looking for a home together. But only when they’re old enough to leave at 8 weeks old. One is full black top eared and the other is black top eared with a white chest patch. I will be contacting those on my waiting list first to ensure those people have a chance though I know some people are after different colour bucks which is fine 🙂

All my baby ratties have been really chunky this time round and I’m pleased with every single one of them. Proper little cuties all around ❤️❤️

Ramé Rasputin sat on my baby bump ❤️ the rattos all love snuggling me at the minute. Still a few months to go but we are all excited non the less. I am low risk and doing well hence being able to continue with young ratties at the moment. All litter plans will be finished in good time before my baby is due and I’ve support systems in place to help with my animals once they arrive. I’m hoping she loves the ratties just as much as I do, I still plan to continue the rattery but there will be no more litters after February until I’m in an established routine with our new arrival ❤️ I have a couple coming up before then so keep your eyes peeled 🙂

Little baby update as we now have peepers ❤️

Babies will be moving into a bigger play cage in the next few days as they are running around now. Lovely chunky little babies. Rogue was not the greatest first time mum squashing 4 in the first few days and then accidentally hurting two on bonfire night (I had the radio on for her and kept a close eye but I didn’t want to stress her to much by constantly disturbing her and checked as the end of the evening). Just goes to show not all breeding is easy sunshine’s and rainbows. The remaining 6 are doing fantastic and are extra chunky. Once she got the hang of it she has done really well. 3 boys and 3 girls remaining all black except one blue boy so unlucky odds with the recessives there but that’s the luck of the draw ❤️

Rogue ensured I was fully cleaned before and after handled the babies such a little sweetheart a shame she’s so damn clumsy 🤕

A little surprise in the rattery this morning ❤️ it’s been a while since we have had any baby ratties so these are a nice surprise. Initially thought the pairing was unsuccessful as she was with him for 2 weeks and no sign of babies. He must have got her the final day she was living with him as three weeks on and we’ve got babies ❤️

Rogue was still on pregnancy watch so thankfully all has gone well and she is doing brilliant. Pairing was Ramé Rogue x Ramé Rasputin with the hopes of producing Self Chocolates and English Blues. There will likely be self blacks in here as well. This is a much anticipated litter for me as Rogue is one of my favourite does. Full of character and an extremely sweet and cheeky young rat.

Rasputin is incredibly laid back, snuggly and loves to give kisses. He is also super affectionate to his fellow rat brothers and always up to rat pile. ❤️ These babies should be the sweetest ratties in the world 😁❤️

I will be watching how these babies grow and getting back to people who are waiting to let people know who is first in line once they grow up a little bit. Currently looking like 4 girls and 8 boys however it is sometimes hard to tell on newborns so I will know for certain in a few days time. I am also looking to keep back a couple from this litter for the future ❤️

A small update for this page as I’ve had a lot of messages lately and not been super active on this page I am hoping to start updating more frequently however I’m not a super active social media user and enjoy spending time with my animals away from a phone screen. Hopefully this answers a few peoples questions.

I am a Member of the NFRS. Not yet a registered stud due to having not been breeding long enough. My rats are also sourced from other nfrs members. I will be registering my stud when i am able to and hoping to attend Shows with my ratties as well when I am more established.

I breed rats in British Blue, Chocolate and Black self with health and temperament as my top priority. Kittens are temperament tested and allocated at 4 weeks to leave between 8-10 weeks of age depending on how well the litter grows and develops. I do have a waiting list so please ask if you would like to be added to it. Please note I do also have a questionnaire and always require proof of suitable set up as well. I currently home out rats as pet only in single s*x groups. I do ask that if your circumstances change and you can no longer keep your ramé rats that you return them to me. My female rats only have 1-2 litters depending on how they raise the first litter and if I don’t manage to get what I was after the first time.

I keep rats as a hobby so don’t man this page every second of the day I may take a little while to reply so be sure to give me a nudge if I don’t send a response after a while I do try to answer all messages but sometimes receive quite a few. I prioritise messages from people who have already purchased kittens from me so I can ensure I am watching their progression and answering any questions people may have.

I do try to allow people to view my rattery but I also control the amount of foot traffic into my house as it is only small and I have to keep my health in mind along as keeping other people safe. We are still in the middle of a pandemic with new cases every day. I can also provide videos (including video call) of my cages and set ups and once kittens are allocated to you I do try to keep people up to date with their progress until they leave for their new homes. All kittens leave treated with spot on and wormer, a blanket/ toy that smells of their cage with me to help them settle in and a small bag of pre mixed changeover food.

The babies I can’t believe they’re 4 and a half weeks now! Time really does fly. They’re just little rats now and oodles of fun despite being very very cheeky. ❤️

Chaos is about to ensue! The babies are going into the big cage today I’m hoping they have oodles of fun and find the treats I’ve hidden for them 🙈 I’m sure coco will also be happy to have more freedom 🤣 the boys will only stay in here for a couple of days before being weaned. Time really has flown by! ❤️

Just a bit of baby rattie spam! 🙈❤️ it’s been pure chaos here lately socialising and playing with the babies. They are all so chill and confident mama taught them well ❤️ they are all trying hard food and treats now. I’ve been helping them on their way with porridge and egg as well to get them used to food that’s slightly softer as well helping them on their way. They’re all such chubby little monsters as well. Just over 3 weeks old now where has the time gone 😧

We have peepers today! Not everybody has opened their eyes yet some I’m still waiting for but the ones with eyes open are already wanting to play and run around. The fun is really about to begin. Surprisingly the small girl who I’ve now named Ramé Rogue as I will be keeping her is one of the first ones with fully open eyes. I’m so glad she’s getting there it’s really hard to tell now who the smaller one is as she’s managed to catch right up with a little extra assistance from me. Better get the playpen out and ready as I’m sure I’m gunna need it 🙈

Pea fishing today didn’t go to plan. Lots of investigating but not a lot of fishing 🤣 there was a bit of pushing each other In and small amounts of fishing which I didn’t manage to catch most of today’s antics involved hikaru checking out how handsome he is 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

Everybody is getting nice and active now. Mama coco has been truly spoilt lately with porridge, eggs and treats alongside my higher protein mix to help her keep condition with so many mouths to feed. Small baby is still trooping on and managing to keep up with siblings still, I’m rooting for her ❤️ I know chaos is coming as they’re coming up to the two week old stage. I am ready and waiting for rattie madness 😜

Everybody is still growing up nicely and I can tell coco is getting excited for them to be running around and playing. She always gets a little run about at check in time and is still pestering me for attention often. Their hair is still coming in but is almost through now. Looks like we actually have some self blacks and some self chocolates! Dad Potato was a possible chocolate carrier however it hasn’t been in the line for a few generations yet recessive genes can hide for a very long time. Coco being visual self chocolate has allowed it to spring back up by the looks of it 😁 there is one little doe who is a little bit behind still but she’s always been a little bit smaller then the others I’m keeping an eye on her and coco is being tentative with her still so got my fingers crossed for her. Ni***es are through now and I can confirm there’s actually 3 boys and 6 girls. One of the girls is very very chunky in the lower department 🤣 starting to look like proper little ratties now ❤️❤️

The babies have reached the peach fuzz phase! They’re feeling really soft now and getting more rattie like by the day ❤️ all 9 still going strong lots of white feeties just like dad though! Definitely a few babies that are starting to stand out to me as possible keepers. I’ll be more sure as they age and I get to see their personality’s as well ❤️

The babies are growing up really fast! Coco is doing an amazing job and is already back to being full of mischief. She brings her babies to me and is happy for me to check on them regularly and grooms me when I do so. Despite all the hot weather we have been having she’s being incredibly patient as well which I’m glad about and keeping condition well. It currently appears that there are 4 boys and 5 girls so an almost even split 🥰 3 currently look like they will be dumbos and the other 6 top eared like mum and dad. I will be continuing to monitor and keep mums protein up, she’s doing a wonderful job ❤️

We had our first litter of beans (kittens) in the rattery yesterday ❤️ Pipistrelle Coco x Burford Potato. Most of these little babies will be hold backs for me to work on my self chocolate line 😁 mum is doing really well and the babies are all well fed and cared for. After over a year of preparing through talking to breeders and doing lots of different research it feels strange to finally have some babies on the ground. I can’t wait to watch them grow up ❤️

Fresh cage clean for the boys today ❤️ there’s 4 boys living in here. Potato, Pheonix, hikaru and sparrow I am looking to upgrade them very shortly however they sure do love this pad 😁 complete with dig box, homemade wood hammock pillow and lots of toys. I have hidden some sneaky treats in the dig box today and round the cage. I can’t wait to watch them play! 😁
