Hey there!

As we gear up for the upcoming total solar eclipse, it's an exciting time for all of us. But there seems to be some confusion about how it might affect our furry friends, like our beloved cats and dogs.

First off, let's clear up a common misconception: the sun isn't any more dangerous during the eclipse itself. The reason we wear protective eyewear is because some of us will be looking directly at the sun, something we don't normally do.

For our pets, like our cuddly cats and loyal dogs, the eclipse day won't be too different from any other. They don't tend to stare at the sun, so there's no need to keep them indoors for long periods on April 08. They might notice a change in temperature, but it's unlikely they'll act out of the ordinary.

Now, birds might react a bit differently. The darkening sky during the eclipse might make them think it's dusk or the beginning of a storm, leading to some changes in their behavior. But once things go back to normal, they'll be back to their usual selves.

If you're thinking of getting eclipse glasses, just make sure they meet safety standards. And remember, it's not safe to use your smartphone's camera to view the eclipse – it could damage both your phone and your eyes. Instead, check out:
