Odin was saved from high kill Cameron County death shelter thanks to Casey agreeing to foster. She fell in love and adopted him and saw him through heartworm treatment. Odin loves his life as a loungy indoor dog with play time in his biiiiiig yard. A beautiful life saved.

Need a rescue for this dog who is submissive and was attacked by other dogs. She is NOT severely injured. She just rolls on her back for people and dogs- she can walk fine, she was hot, has healing wound on her head. The woman who reached out was visiting her dad near Harlingen and heard a guy encouraging dog fighting. She called police but people were gone. This dog is NOT a fighter. These dogs need a rescue!! They can and probably should go to two different rescues. Both are very scared, this environment at the shelter is terrifying to him, but ZERO aggression. Can be picked up and carried, both are about 40-45 lbs but should be more like 50-55. Zorro is a little bigger. They look kind of like a giant schnauzer, though but are likely likely a mix of several dogs and not a giant schnauzer. These dogs will need to be groomed regularly. They are not shedders. they are part of a hoarding case. Dog friendly, heartworm negative! Please let me know. These dogs cannot be adopted. They must go to a rescue.

Can your rescue take this young bloodhound? He is at risk. He’s extremely friendly and dorky, does not seem to be a barker! Not one bark. Almost all of the other dogs were barking in their kennels, and he did not bark at all. Let me know. Rio Grande Valley.

Special needs young cat at shelter in Rio Grande valley- can help with transport to San Antonio and Austin. He is not sick! Shrunken and or missing eye/s- 99% sure this was birth defect. Does not seem to be totally blind- I think he has vision in one eye. This cat is super friendly he’s so sweet!! He’s not doing well in a kennel keeps trying to push out bc he doesn’t understand doors probably because can’t see well. He’s at palm valley! This is not a URI it’s likely microopthalmia. There is no drainage I believe the cat was born like this. I have seen it before and he will probably not need surgery or anything. Help!!

A couple months ago my friend Ursula and I went to a woman’s house for another matter when we heard a dog barking in the closed garage (no windows). She told me she got the dog off Facebook and I asked her if I could see him, she opened the garage door and to my horror the dog was tied with a leash (see first picture, but you can’t see the dog poop)to a weight machine with crap everywhere. This is where she was keeping the dog, and she had no fenced in yard. I asked her if I could potentially take the dog and she agreed and Ursula picked him up the next day. He was still tied in the closed garage. After a couple weeks a rescue partner further north was able to take him and got him adopted in Florida. This is where your donations go when we have to do, basic vetting, transport, etc Click on second picture to see whole pic!!!

I stopped at a house that’s falling apart bc I’ve seen multiple cats there. I brought revolution and food. I can try to help more but right now- can anyone help with some kittens? The woman has mental health issues and other issues and she beought mom kitties inside and needs help- she’s also very very financially challenged. She’s a kind woman and has done good so far - she has no resources and is living in a room. There are 4, maybe 5-6 weeks old.

Over the last month or so, we have saved four Pyrenees and five German Shepherd- all adults, from high kill shelter in the Rio Grande Valley- and look at Biggie in his new home, guarding the goldfish. About 5 years ago, we tried like hell to save this smaller, not young, one eyed border collie. A wonderful woman a couple hundred miles away wanted him and fostered then adopted. I look forward to regular updates but the cutest tradition Cristina does is annual bluebonnet pics- every year I get the pics and can’t tell you how happy it makes me. This has been a very expensive week-many hundreds spent on transport and our costs are not over yet. (Plus vaccs, flea tick and de wormer). Here is this guy and girl yesterday, at their overnight stay, and the boy this evening at his foster home. This is why we do it. This past week we also sent two shepherds 9 hours away, and one 6 hours away - and still have two other shepherds transporting Friday which has all cost $600 just on transport. Everything is on hold until we can get donations. (these are different Pyrenees from the one we helped get out a week ago.)

The German Shepherd who has the weird autoimmune issue on her nose is now at adopters home. She’s a sweet nutty girl- she went into the shower and started rolling around before the filming but, you can see a few seconds of her playing in this video. She was not put in the shower and she was not locked in the bathroom! She’s just enjoying exploring and being an indoor dog!!

Even her ears now show her health and happiness! From starved and on death row to beautiful and adopted. I don’t know if you can tell what bad shape this puppy was in, but it was very bad. She just needed a little care and love, and she is a calm and beautiful and has a loving human companion. Thank you for being apart of doing this work. She’s at the vet getting her nose treated and additional ouchies (vaccines). A vet had given us something to begin treating before appointment- now she’s fully hooked up.
She’s so stinking sweet, not an aggressive bone in her body. Here’s her siblings too who also visited the vet and got vaccines and health certificates. Your donations went further and covered these vaccines and health certificates! Thank you!!! And thank you to Grayson and Cynthia who are fostering them, and took a chance when we had absolutely no placement leads for them. They are truly heroic.

If you do nothing else email one sentence to Judge Trevino and ask “What are you doing to save lives at your High Kill animal shelter- other governments are doing so much better “ [email protected] PLeASE nothing will work by public outrage. You don’t need to refer to this dog. There are many many others like her. Just one sentence for now!!! I posted her several days ago. A healthy friendly girl, crying to get out. Now she’s dead. Don’t blame the shelter workers! Blame Cameron County, Texas county leadership (county Judge Trevino and Director of Public Health Guajardo and the huge obstacle that is Me. Olivares who is the director over the shelter- he 100% opts to kill over embracing life saving) for refusing to embrace life-saving strategies that nearly every other city and county has begun to implement. They have been incredibly resistant and they operate in the 1980s. They are high kill and they don’t have any will to change. Unless you start emailing and calling the killing is going to continue. Also, they better be properly recording the number of animals they euthanize, because lying to the public is actually a crime that is punishable in the courts- individuals can go to prison for lying in public records. We shall see- I know of specific animals that have died, and we will be requesting the records to see how they were recorded. Wallace Cannoli is a big goober, dog friendly, lug rump. I was going to name him Derpy McDorkface but decided to name him after Wendy Wallace who support our efforts at South Texas Rescue & Network . Pics in comments. Wallace is dog friendly with all the dogs hes met here from 2 lbs to 40 lbs, his favorite thing is to plunk forcefully on his back for belly scrubs, and then he'll leap up and run to you for rubs on the top side of his rump roast. He is not ok with chickens, though, they are his nemesis, and he will win that battle. He is about a year old, heartworm negative (unbelievable!) he was neutered yesterday, and is working on house training - his neuter will help with that especially when going into a new house after neuter, its usually easier to nip any peeing. I love him.

Working with a rescue partner i was able to remove these tinies from the shelter. They were very overheated, and some of them were just laying down on their sides, panting. I sent Dee the video that these owner surrender puppies and she said yes right away. Dee does amazing work! Thank you Tip of Texas Rescue for taking them.!!!

Tiny girl heeler only 8 to 10 pounds, 10 weeks old is being dropped off right now at Cameron County TX by an owner. If you can save, please do it quickly before he gets intakes I can get him out. Please if you are out of state, I cannot get this dog to you. Please don’t say you’ll take the dog and expect her to be transported to you. I know you want to help really doesn’t help unless you can find the transport - we are basically operating with our own money in the few people who donate we can’t drive dogs, hundreds and hundreds of miles. ONE MORE DAY ONLY. The dog on the left was already killed. The friendly German Shepherd has a day to be saved. It is a female, and she appears very sweet. She is in the Rio Grande valley of Texas. If you can save her let me know ASAP.

Sadly this kitten died. This 4 to 5 week old kitten is paralyzed and needs a rescue ASAP. Vet said nothing is broken!! Is there anyone who is interested and rescuing the sweet girl?

Here is a video of the boxer! I vaccinated him today. He is a fantastic dog. Please share far and wide this time is limited. He is micro chipped, but it is not registered. But given that is micro chipped, he was probably also vaccinated before which is good for protection.
