Flying the dogs, especially when there’s connecting flights involved, is nerve wracking. I feel just a smidgeon better knowing they’re in their Impact crates.

The big guy had another good day today, AKC Scentwork Detective class qualifying run #4 of 10. We’re slugging along and picking up Q’s, but I sure wish we had more opportunities to enter this class here in Alaska!!

This handsome puppy and I had a rough weekend trialing Scentwork. Many handling errors on my part kept Quiz from success on Saturday.
Sunday I drank an extra cup of coffee, he completed his Excellent Exteriors title, and picked up another qualifying run in Excellent Buried.
Quiz amazes me that in 5 trial weekends he’s gone from his first trial ever at any sport to the Masters level (Novice, Advanced, Excellent, Masters) at 18 months of age.
After competing on 10 of the last 21 days we’ve earned a couple of weekends off, whew!

Last brag post from me for this weekend…today we competed in Quiz’ first ever NACSW Nosework trial in Chugiak.
Poor guy has been crated for several days while we drove to Fairbanks and back to compete there, got home late last night, woke up early this morning and off to another trial.
After all that, I entered him in the NACSW trial where you have to have a perfect day (qualifying runs in Interior, Exteriors, Containers, and Vehicle searches) in order to title. Probably not my best idea, but seemed to work out anyway ❤️❤️

My puppy Quiz, at his fourth trial, has titled out of advanced containers, advanced interiors, advanced exteriors and advanced buried to complete his Scentwork Advanced level title.
Not only that…he also has 2 of 3 required Excellent legs in both Containers and Exteriors. One more leg in each of those elements and he’ll be running in the Masters level!! 🤩🤩🤯😱

I don’t think I’ve ever had to fill out an AKC Scentwork class transfer form moving from the Novice classes up to the Excellent classes before…but this guy rocked it in two elements!
In three trial weekends Quiz had his first trial ever, completed Novice requirements, Advanced requirements, and qualified on his first Excellent run in Containers. He also finished his Novice and Advanced titles in Exteriors.
The best part of all of this is he’s just a great guy to hang out with. ❤️❤️❤️

So proud of this guy, took a short trip and came home with his Scent Work Novice title ✅.
To earn this he had to title in Containers, Interiors, Exteriors, and Buried elements…three qualifying runs in each.
Then, since we had a few entries to spare, we moved him up to the Advanced level…and he qualified in those, too!
Quiz is 17 months old and has his ORT title as well, it’s going to be a fun journey!!

Around here we call him “Mr. Efficient”, after earning his AKC Rally Advanced title just a few weeks ago, Ivon again went three for three and earned his AKC Rally Excellent title the same way!
With scores of 97, 97, and 98 out of 100 he earned additional judge comments of “Beautifully done with excellent teamwork!” “That was lovely - nice teamwork here!” and “Great run, team! Lovely dog”

We’re looking forward to 2023 and have some lofty goals for this year!

Just double checked with AKC and my log is correct…Ivon completed the required legs to earn his Rally Advanced title!! On to the excellent level 🤩
