The program places fully-vetted senior dogs (typically over the age of 6) with senior citizens, with a waived adoption fee for approved applicants.

He would do well in a home where commands are used as he’s very obedient and loyal. Chopper is down to play outside or chill in the house with you!🏡

Sweet Sam is almost 9 years old, and he has been with Hope for Pets Rescue for two years. He is one of the sweetest boys ever and doesn’t act like a senior. He has a happy personality and enjoys running and playing, but he especially loves belly rubs and as much attention as you can give. He is kid friendly, house trained and crate trained.
Sam must be an only dog and he doesn’t like cats. But he loves humans unconditionally!

Lady is a sweet 11 year old girl who is available through our Seniors for Seniors program! 🐾
Lady was found running down the street and her foster mom was able to catch her and take her to the vet to see if she was chipped! Lady was chipped, but unfortunately her owner had passed away in 2022. 😞 We aren’t sure how long Lady was on her own, so Lady does take a little bit to warm up to new people!
🐾Lady is dog friendly, potty trained, and knows basic commands!🐾

Panda is a sweet boy and is pretty laid back.
Panda was found by his foster mom and we can only assume that the kind of life he had was rough and something a dog should never have to go through. He has overcome a hard life and is ready to have a forever family. Panda does have arthritis and that will need to be managed with pain medication, but he takes it like a champ!

Sam got some good news today and wanted to share it with you since your donations helped pay for his surgery. He does not have Mast Cell cancer!!!
It was a soft tissue sarcoma grade 1. Apparently it is pretty common in middle aged or older dogs and once removed normally doesn’t come back!
Sam is back on the adoption list and anxiously waiting for his furever family! He loves being outdoors but doesn’t mind being an inside buddy either. We are looking for a weekend foster for Mac. His current foster works all day Friday and Saturday and Mac gets lonely. He would love to hang out with you and keep you company for a couple of days. He is very laid back, house and crate trained. He will come with everything he needs.

It was an exciting morning at HfP! Raising Cane is actually name Chopper and he is now back home with his owner! He apparently dug out to go for a swim in the creek and someone picked him up before he could make it back home. This is a good example of the importance of microchipping your pets! There are several low cost microchipping events in the area. We are so excited for Chopper and his owner! We know they missed each other!!
Todays transport was for the seniors! Lola and Sassys owner had passed and they found themselves at risk in the shelter. Holly was living in unfortunate circumstances until she went to heal with her foster. This is why fostering is so important! These three are on their way to Canada to live their best life and it wouldn’t have been possible without fosters!!
Leia went for a walk with her cat friend yesterday! It’s safe to say this sweet girl is cat friendly!

Mr Cane is out of the shelter! He has a long way to go but he’s going to get all the loving care he can stand!! Hes still getting used to his new place. He’s such a sweet, calm boy. From his foster: Mr. Mack is definitely a joy to have around. Most of the time he’s reserved and quiet but has his short little spouts of energy where he will spin and jump in a circle or run his face on the floor. He’s also very curious. He always wants to do what I’m doing and where I’m going. He likes soft plush toys to play with and will sleep anywhere as long as there’s a blanket. Currently his favorite spot to sleep is on our couch.
