💖 Tania is a full-time baby. It’s amazing to feel her energy and see her so happy in everything she does.

She is one of our special inhabitants, one that we constantly supervise. Despite having limited mobility because she is missing two legs, her vitality and desire to live are enormous, and she has learned to move with almost total autonomy, without the need for help, except for very specific things. She gets in and out of her bed and can walk on any surface without brushing her body against the ground.

Although she has a special trolley with wheels, she rarely uses it, since she feels more free without it. She also does controlled exercise that keeps her muscles in good shape, which in turn allows her to remain independent for almost everything. . The desire to live together with quality care and attention can work true miracles 🥰

This little girl lives inside the house along with sick cats, lambs, chickens, and roosters. In Garfi Animal Sanctuary there is always that special magic, and animals can live with each other in total harmony, forming a great multispecies and loving family 🐑🦃🐓🐔🐣🦆🕊🐈🐐🦔💖

Grandpa Bidduzzo has been keeping his promise since the cold began and he announced to all of us that he would live under a blanket until spring. Well, he still has a little left, so we'll see if the promise was only until spring, because we see him too comfortable and maybe he ends up extending the blanket season until next year 😻

Rita’s breakfast 🐔

Before she was born, Rita was condemned to suffer the consequences of genetics imposed by the industry to be a “machine” to produce eggs. The health problems of chickens are so many that it is difficult to list them all in a single post, however, what we can tell you is that at Garfi Animal Sanctuary we will do everything necessary for them.

Rita has been inside the house for a few days with a special diet and treatment. We decided to bring her inside her when one morning she wasn’t running as excited as usual for breakfast. Part of the job, and no less important, is to be very vigilant and have a “sixth sense” to know when there are animals that are not feeling well. Birds usually hide any symptoms of disease, so you have to observe them a lot to be able to act quickly.

Albin arrived at the sanctuary as a baby he was just a day or two old. He was one of our first rescues, and we are very proud of him. He is turning into quite a big, strong sheep, but he still has a very cute and special boyish disposition.

He’s been at the sanctuary for over a year, and while he’s quite active, when he wants cuddles, he lets you know and gets mad if you take too long to give them to him. That’s how beautiful life is for him. He can be who he wants without fear of anything.

Taking care of animals as vulnerable as Albin is very difficult, especially at an economic level, since Garfi Animal Sanctuary has so many expenses such as food, veterinarians, rent, bills, etc. Consider joining us as partners so that more special and vulnerable beings like him can have a long and happy life in the sanctuary 🙏

🐕 Bidduzzo is the grandpa of the sanctuary. A very sleepy canary hound who must be "forced" to do some exercise for her own health, because if we don't take he to do some movement, he would be sleeping under a blanket all day. The grandparents like him must be taken care of as much as possible.

It is very nice to see how he lives with all the other animals, like other dogs, cats, hens, roosters, turkeys, sheep and goats. Despite having been used for hunting, and discarded and abandoned when he lost two toes on one foot, his heart is so big that everyone can fit without exception.

Grandparents like him need a lot of attention and supervision. He can no longer get on and off the couch without help, and although sometimes he manages to do it, many other times he can't, and the risk of falling is high, so we always has eyes on him to help him.

One of the basic needs is heat, being so old (15 years old) he needs to be warm in these cold winters. Part of our funds are used to buy firewood that feeds the stove in the living room, our only heating. Can you help us buy more? 💕

Soon we will receive an order for firewood to warm the animals on winter thanks to the people who have sent donations to the sanctuary 🔥 We are going through very difficult weeks due to the veterinary emergencies that have consumed all our funds, also the bad weather, every day we have more cold, less hours of daylight and it has been raining which makes the work more difficult and makes everything much more dirty, and we are also busy doing some repair work. We would be doing much more if there were not so much lack of funds that has us so limited, but for now it is the situation and we are going to stay strong to break it. ⚠️🚨 We have many unpaid veterinary bills. Please it is very important, many animals can lose veterinary attention if we do not receive funds.

❤️‍🩹 Puri needs insulin every 12 hours again. On Monday she was hospitalized all day and her vets did several tests and a glucose curve, and her values were close to 600, too high, so it was decided to resume treatment again, and continue with the special diet for cats with diabetes. Puri needs weekly checkups, but unfortunately we are out of funds. Our situation is very serious, please consider supporting us, every donation is important

Olivia continues to recovering and gain strength. Here you have her drinking a bottle of milk with a lot of energy, and we love to see her so happy. For now we can say that she has beaten the disease and from now on she only has need to recover very slowly, but we continue being cautious. She suffered very strong pains in her stomach and that made her physically very weak. She is better now but need more days for her to have more energy and vitality. Keep sending well wishes to this very vulnerable baby. She has had a very bad time and she has truly been reborn.

Orion is becoming an adult sheep with and beautiful horns are coming out. This handsome boy was born here in the sanctuary, because we rescued her mother while she was pregnant, and although it was only a suspicion, that wonderful moment finally happened in which she gave birth to her two children, one of them Orion. Soon he will have to be castrated, and that will increase expenses, but it is very important.
