Mojito being such a good girl while we met a bunch of people yesterday! She handled dogs, kids running, strollers, other horses, a ton of scary looking items at vendor booths, and wasn’t at all worried! Her only enemy so far has been the giant boulders. She simply stops, looks at them, and then will touch them once I touch them. She will walk through puddles to conserve energy if they are in the easiest route to where she is going, but if they’re easy to step around, she will step around them😂
Here is the video of how nicely Mojito loaded to head to the ATFO yesterday! She went on so well we barely had time to video it!😂

APPLY TODAY!
We are quickly approaching the deadline to apply for Mojito, or any ATFO horse. Mojito is an incredible little mare who now has a strong foundation. She is 3 years old, 14.2hh, and a QH x Arabian. She is the chillest 3 year old I’ve ever met!
In the video are just a few of the things I like about her, from her nice canter, ability to carry a saddle with no problems ever, ability to stand tied (or ground tied) better than any horse I’ve met, her bravery and calmness when learning to load in the trailer, her bombproof nature when helping me with kids camps, and how far she has come when standing for the farrier. Her adopter level should be Intermediate with a Trainer or higher.
Don’t miss your opportunity to adopt Mojito! Fill out the application below!

Here is the video for Mojito’s first official time carrying a saddle! She ground tied after I tacked her up which allowed me to be able to video as I asked her to take her first steps with the saddle on!
You may notice that she is a bit on the lazier side and takes a good bit of clicking for motivation to move and stay moving, but I think that is a super good thing since it means she is less likely to use up energy doing unnecessary shenanigans!
At one point in the video you see her stop during her first lap after a direction change. As you can tell by the camera, I accidentally stepped too far forward towards her shoulder instead of staying towards her hip, which is her cue to stop. (This is due to me being bad at videoing while working with horses😂). It definitely shows how well she pays attention to my every movement, which makes me very proud of her!

I have to brag on this little mare once again. Not only is she a ground tying pro, but she is also a master at having her hooves cleaned! Her stall door was wide open, the barn door was wide open, and she could have so easily wandered off, or even decided to act up about her hooves.
This mare is so chill, I absolutely love working with her now that we’ve established a healthy, respectful relationship.

A huge thank you to We Care For Pups for the beautiful pink hay net!
Mojito loves the hay net, and her best friend, Buttons the goat, was also very excited to help open the gift! As you can see, Mojito ground ties pretty well, even being out of the pasture, and you can also hear some cars on the road just behind our videographer.

Here’s a little video of Mojito getting her legs hosed earlier this week! She was great for front legs, chest, and shoulder, but it took her a minute to decide that having her back legs hosed wasn’t so bad. I plan to give her a full bath soon!
Mojito also received a new package in the mail this morning, so I will make sure to video her opening it this afternoon!!!
*I do not typically wear dresses when working with horses, I just went straight to the barn after my office job😂*

Mojito came to me in the pasture for some attention before she resumed with her grazing. She loves people so much, and would do anything to be with her person! She always comes to me in the pasture and stays at the front of her stall for people to greet when she is in the barn. She is also fine with being touched pretty much everywhere, and as you can see, she does not care if you play with her ears.

I let Mojito into the arena to stretch her legs during a break between lessons, and she LOVED the freshly tilled dirt!
Here is the video I had promised of introducing Mojito to the surcingle! She handled it so well, and it really goes to show how taking the time to build that foundation first can make all the difference!
It was right before feeding time, so she was a bit hungry and wanted some grass, but she did listen when I told her to keep moving. You can also see she is not a super forward horse. She would not make a great barrel or speed prospect, in my opinion😂
On the other hand, this filly is pretty fearless. Obstacle challenges are absolutely her thing! I could also see her making an amazing pleasure horse.

A short video of the end of a session with #HOPTeamMojito! I will post the full session shortly!
I noticed Mojito was a bit uncomfortable with the girth when I first introduced her to the saddle a while back, so I decided to use the surcingle instead. She handled it like a pro!! She even kept her brain enough to do some side passing at the end of our session. Looks like after really steadying up our foundation, she is ready to try the saddle again!

Mojito ponied for the first time today! I started in the arena, and then took her around our back yard where she hasn’t been. She was nervous about the fire pit and gazebo, but never overreacted about it. On the way back up the hill I had her stop and sniff a section of the gazebo roof that was behind the gazebo, and decided to see how she would handle being placed between it and my personal horse. While she was nervous and stayed close, I felt like she knew not to actually push into my personal horse. After conquering the scary gazebo, she had a bit of confidence, but after a quick verbal reprimand she worked harder to contain herself. I also decided to stop and let her think. Sometimes with her, just stopping and taking a second to get her brain back fixes things. Afterwards, she did pull a bit more, but she never tried to get too playful again. Once we entered the pasture she let out a deep sigh and her entire body relaxed, which made me very proud. While she is two and isn’t perfect, she’s come so far from the horse that could hardly be led in hand just in the arena without leaping onto people and bolting. She’s so smart, and very responsive to anyone who has earned her respect.
One thing I noticed Mojito pick up on the most during today’s session was verbal cues from above. When I said “whoa” to my horse, Mojito was beginning to stop even before my personal horse at times. When I would cluck or ask my personal horse to “walk up”, Mojito also began to move forward without halter pressure, which she did not do at the beginning of our session. These are things that will translate to starting her under saddle with her future adopter.
We will be continuing to work on ponying, eventually moving out onto the trails where she will learn to handle creek crossings, wildlife, and many other things!
Pictures are posted separately!!

Another video from Mojito’s obstacle course! I think we have finally found something this filly is actually a little unsure about: a water gun! She handled the weird noise it made when it was empty, and was okay with it shooting out water, but didn’t like it so much when the water hit the ground. She handled herself well and was very brave about it!
A little video of the first portion of some obstacle introduction today. Tarps, cow heads, hula hoops, and bridges do not phase this filly!
More videos to come this afternoon of the rest of the obstacles!
*I apologize for the blurry video quality😂
Mojito also received a Knotty Girlz rope halter, which is my personal favorite brand, from Angel Lee! She was very excited to show it to the camera!
Another big thank you to Angel Lee who donated some hot pink rubber bands so Mojito can look her best this summer!
