Remember the sweet senior gal that was found on the street starving to death a couple of weeks back? The one whose nails had grown so long that they embedded themselves into her paw pads, but she struggled to walk anyway to try to find food and water? She is doing so well now. She has gained a whole pound, and is being spoiled and pampered in a loving foster home!! Her feet have completely healed and the diagnostics we performed did show that she has hyper thyroidism and she seems to be responding really well to her medication. She takes it like a champ!! We are so grateful to everyone who played in getting her safe.
She still has a long way to go as she has not yet tipped the scale 6lbs but she is doing better every day!!
Thank you to Sunshine Veterinary Hospital for capturing this sweet moment during her checkup this week!
SOUND ON and enjoy the songs of spay day! These 18 babies are headed to spay today and then it’s off to find their forever families! Enjoy their harmony! And watch for them next week on our Adoptable Cats page:

Heartbreaking Rescue
Warning! I am a seasoned rescuer and this video absolutely devastated me to see. The absolute hopelessness in her eyes. She has yet to understand she is now no longer alone in her fight to survive.
Late last night, one of our fantastic fosters (thank you Vera!) came across a rescue plea for this little kitten, who was literally literally being discarded as trash! She reached out to our amazing trapper Brittany Mason, who was already out doing work and very close, thank God, to that neighborhood. She rushed right over to scoop this little baby up and bring her to safety.
To say this baby is in rough condition is a understatement. The infected eyes are only a small portion of her problems and she is quite critical. She is currently under the care of Brittany Mason who is exceptionally experienced with treating critically sick animals. Please pray that this baby can get a little bit stronger and start to heal.

URGENT DONATIONS NEEDED:
This little kitten was found today in critical condition with what appears to be potential trauma to the head and is now at one of our ER partners. We just paid a deposit to have him seen and stabilized and shortly after he arrived there he started having a seizure. Please, if you can help us with any funding, our deposit amount to start diagnostics was $842. We want to stabilize him and transport him to our primary vet tomorrow if he makes it through the night. We are looking at a potential $2000 veterinary bill. Copy of our deposit payment in comments.
Please donate if you can. Any amount helps. If you’re not able to donate, please click share and help us help this little baby. He’s only about seven weeks old!!

We will post updates as we get them.
Update: 9:01am The kittens seizures continued through the night. They were able to do X-rays with show significant swelling in his head and penetrating puncture to the skull. He needs an MRI to look closer to see if he has bone fragments that may need removed. Pain meds, IV fluids, antibiotics have been given to help his inflammation and infection. He is being transferred to to a rescue with extensive experience with head trauma to give him his best chance at a recovery. Please pray for him.
What happened to this baby? A lesser known parasite called a Cuterebra (also known as a botfly). It burrowed its way inside this baby’s skin to feed and grow until big enough to live more independently.
We named this beautiful baby boy FALKOR (the luck dragon). In the 48 hours we have had him, we have also learned he is completely deaf. So we will be on the hunt for a very special home that can adequately care for and keep him safe.

A special thanks to Dr Liberman at Sunshine Veterinary Hospital for seeing us last minute on a Saturday during a busy holiday weekend! We didn’t want that thing in his neck a moment longer!!

Sweet Cheese Puff had his freedom ride today from PBCACC and the euthanasia list with a special thanks once again to Jo Varga (thank you, Jo!) for dropping everything and running there to save him! Cheese Puff was brought in today and is too young to eat well in his own and also is suspected to have a condition called swimmers syndrome. More common in puppies than cats but can be fully rehabilitated with proper care and physical therapy!
We were so blessed to be able to say yes to this special medical case today because of all the generous donations we received over the last two weeks celebrating our 4 year birthday of our rescue! It makes a huge difference when we know we having funding (often the hardest part of helping them) ready to go and he will see our primary veterinary team at Sunshine Veterinary Hospital tomorrow first thing!
Welcome, Cheese Puff, to the Purr Family! We are excited to have you with us!
Who knew butterflies could be so aggressive!!
Featuring Angus the Butterfly, Martini, Margarita, Mimosa, and Mai Tai.
Our newest babies are still fighting! This is the one we are most guarded about but he’s in the best hands with one of our most critical care fosters! He’s being tube fed until he gains more strength and is eager to eat on his own again. But he’s still with us and yesterday we couldn’t be sure he would be here today! So this is extremely happy news! When we first got him he was hypothermic and so dehydrated his face and eyes were sunken in. But he’s a bit better today and if he keeps fighting he will be even better tomorrow!
Keep the well wishes coming!! And check back for daily updates on this first litter of 2024!

URGENT HELP NEEDED! Our foster momma and fellow rescue champion Dawn Ryan-Flynn received a call from a friend of hers who found a cat abandoned in her yard, and very close to death. Dawn asked if we could help and without hesitating, we said yes. No cat should be left to suffer in this condition. She rushed to pick him up and bring him to MedVet Jupiter, where he is currently being given life-saving treatment. His condition is guarded, but we are hopeful he can pull through. He weighs just over four pounds and his temperature didn’t even register. Dr Sigman said he was about five breaths away from dying. Seriously. He was that close.
After being warmed up a little bit and being given some dextrose for extremely low blood sugar, he started to show some signs of life and even an interest in eating a few bites of food. As you can see his approximate vet bill for even just staying 24 hours is quite high, and any help toward this bill would be appreciated. We have agreed to allow him to stay overnight. He is going to need repeated glucose checks to ensure that his blood sugar is not only being kept up, but stays up on its own. Once he is stable, he will be able to be discharged into a critical care foster home until he is out of the woods. Estimate is $2700 on the low end.
