Cat love is like no other! Here’s my Milo, the Ambassador to The Catnip Hale.
Tora!
Tora got his stitches out today and had a great prognosis! Dawn of HARF asked if he could stay a bit longer at The Catnip Hale since he’s a big boy and is still fresh from a major surgery. With a personality like that, how could I say no? Everybody loves Tora! We love you Tora!!
Kia’i is reunited with owners after 9 months missing.
The Catnip Hale has spread through word of mouth by cats! They know where to get help apparently!
By IBS in Kahului. Following up on another persons post about this kitty. Bringing eye meds tomorrow to try and administer. He’s intact, no chip Siva Kolstad
Firecat Cookie and his sister.
I know cookie sees his family like this…. He wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for their determination to get him out of the fire zone after trying for 29 days. Please foster cats so they have a fighting chance.
Hi I’m Cookie! I’m staying at The Catnip Hale with my brother, Mr Grey because my house burned in the Lahaina fires. My mom went back and got me after almost a month in the ash, along with Mr Grey. We now have our own big room and today mom and our hunan sister visited us! I dressed up for the occasion and they brought me treats and I loved being brushed I miss them very much but I know they are working on finding a place and time where we can be together again. Until then, I’m here safe with aunt Jen and my family can visit any time. We know how lucky we are, thanks to our mom going in and getting us herself! We love her very much!
Last night using a thermal imaging camera for trapping in Lahaina. You can see how hot the ground is from the Lahaina heat, that thermal imaging isn’t “awesome” to have in the islands for fire rescue. But it does help a little. This is us just using it a little more than needed just to share. This cat ended up being a feral with no chip. Because the non profits who specialize in community cats are ”beyond overwhelmed” and full, I had to let him go. I had a cage waiting in my garage for whatever we trapped, but he was healthy, in a location that was on the edge of an intact community with green grass, VERY wild even after some time, and we realized that this kitty would be stuck in my garage indefinitely for what? It was a hard decision to let him go after believing ALL cats must be removed from Lahaina. But in his somewhat OK scenario and the fate that was waiting for him in captivity, we decided we needed the room for injured, pets, or at least when we knew we could take the cat to MHS. They’re full ATM. the sad reality is that we have no space all over the island for these cats. We’ll keep looking for the injured and people’s pets.
Lola, our new fire kitty is improving from being in the ash and burn zone for the past 3 weeks. I’m in communication with her mom whose husband is in the hospital struggling with an infection that has spread to his heart. Please keep him in your prayers. Lola’s mom is in a hotel. Lola is her daddy’s baby so I’m sending videos and pictures in hopes that improves his spirit. Please donate to the fund to help feed Lola and keep her healthy for whatever she may need.

Taco and Snowball for a 4th stay in the past 1.5 years. At this point, I think they know I'm "auntie" and although they still don't like the car ride over to my house, they walk out fo the carrier like they are in their vacation home!

Welcoming Ella to the Catnip Hale. She likes video games.
2 years ago today I had to say good bye to my beloved cat Chimi. 11 wonderful years. Still feels like yesterday she was here.
