Twirling with my bestie 💃🏼✨

Loved my outings recently, we’ve been learning (and reinforcing a lot!) huge thank you to and for making it possible 🫶🏼

- forwards piaffe, more jog until it’s reliably forwards
- passage same idea
- right shoulder more open in changes
- my right shoulder don’t drop especially going left!
- tempis do going left until more straight
- stick tap behind leg not on croup for piaffe& passage
- half pass come into from other way
- extended canter needed to be big AND uphill
- don’t override the pirouette canter, trust he’ll stay.
- half pass needs to be more shoulder-for/ body bend
- pirouette’s the outside leg is the accelerator!

So loving training atm!! Mary Wanless , and Sue Wharton- big thank you for the continued support with this horse. When the journey is this great, the ‘final’ destination doesn’t really matter! Feel very lucky to reach lots of little hugely satisfying destinations along the way ❤️

My heart horse. The announcement I know you’ve all been waiting for… and it’s a long one!

Earlier this year his owners decided to sell. With the power of social media, we’ve done it! As well as some amazing people who’ve been supporting on the outside… who’re now officially part of the team. I have him!! For 3 years it’s secure.

Lana Zavada (/ ) and Mary Wanless (RWYM, representing Planet Trading LTD), Lana Rudman () Pheobe Bolton (my incredible osteopath, friend and mentor ) Sue Wharton (a student of RWYM) and myself are the owners (in order of size of ownership).

Feels like an absolute honour to have an awesome team behind us that believes in what we can do.

Thank you to and who saw my post and reached out. I’m forever grateful for your trust and support.

Thank you to who’s not only helped Olaf (and many others who’ve been in my care) tremendously, but also been a sounding board for my endless paragraphs, who’s put up with all the wobbles & helped us to all our shows this year too ❤️ to have you as an owner, very humbling 🥹

A big thank you to Mary Wanless, who’s been my coach since day 1. And my god am I glad, no I’m not a talented rider. I looked like a noodle in the wind, and have fought against a lot of bad habits, poor tone and hyper-flexible joints, without her guidance I wouldn’t be a fraction of the rider or horsewomen I am today. The groundwork, approach and whole way of the RWYM system I owe a lot to. All the summers spent at hers, starting with good old tinker when I was 11/12. Thank you for all of it and thank you for this.

Thank you to Sue Wharton who I met a good few years back on one of the summers at Mary’s, you’ve always been so sweet and supportive, honestly to have someone who’s such an accomplished women (professor!) respecting my opinion made me feel like a million bucks. I love your new pony and think it’s awesome you’ve started your riding with Mary and rider-biomechanics.

And thank you DTTV for being patient whilst this was all sorted out 🥰❤️

Looking to work on keeping the jump in the canter maintaining it throughout lateral/ collection/ extension & changes

And in the trot I’d like to focus on the lateral work, frame and we’ll strength train towards building that passage & piaffe 💪🏼💪🏼

Soooo excited to show you guys yesterday’s footage and photos, Olaf despite being a bit tight/ tired (our new puzzle piece I think has made him work new muscles!) was absolutely awesome, especially as I haven’t done any “proper schooling” for over a week as we’ve been working on our way of going 🙌🏼

Photo 1 -> Nicely over the back, and sitting but off balance, despite sitting his weight isn’t back, perhaps too quick tempo? Maybe tired?

Photo 2 -> better balance but because he’s dropped the forehand and is mostly using neck to lift front

Photo 3 -> much nicer in frame/ back but has dropped the poll, again too much impulsion perhaps has lost balance.

Thoughts for Wednesday’s PSG.

- Forwards into halt, don’t let him drop me! Or the canter fade. Ride up into halt not down.
- Don’t throw away preparation time for the extended by not using my corners
- Ride the extended trot marker to marker, and don’t throw him across the diagonal! Ride it like a big passage, keep the connection.
- Left SI needs more bend
- The circles are 8m!!!
- prep your half pass in your circle.
- walk pirouettes shouldn’t need much preparation if the walk is collected properly!! (Dig at myself 🥴)
- Use turn to unlock extended walk
- extended walk -> collected canter, widen your hands to take up slack & keep connection over back
- Finish each half pass before the change! If I can do a half pass, and a change separately, ride them so to give Olaf more time & myself. Ride the canter transition with this in mind!
- no comments particularly on canter pirouettes, may regret this…
- tempis, straight and uphill, if your first one isn’t straight, good luck by change 5
- leg on into halt !

Love that the sun has dried the ground enough to start hill work again! As Ella isn’t a fan of road work (just end up kicking a lot) it’s so nice to take her up the fields where she loves!
