Hello everyone! I wanted to give a quick update that we are working hard to get Weight Control (and High Calorie) produced so we can restock them. Coordinating production is by far the most challenging part of our business, and of course it has to be the most critical part too. Thank you for bearing with us!

Hello friends! We have been without power both at home and our Hedgehog Precision office/warehouse since yesterday evening, plus extremely slow cell service following the storm that came through. We will catch up on emails and work on getting orders sent out as soon as power is restored!

Earlier this year, Nathan and I road-tripped to Utah for a video collaboration with Clint's Reptiles - I'm thrilled with how this video turned out given that we are not put together "in front of the camera" people. 😂 I was also 33 weeks pregnant at the time, so our baby girl Katelyn technically made a stealthy appearance!

I know I'm a few days late, but I couldn't be more thankful for each and every one of our customers - we can't do what we do without you! Running a small business through Covid, and now in this economy, is no joke. We announced to friends and family recently, and should let you all in on a big personal update too - Nathan and I are expecting our first human child this coming spring! Because 99% of the daily HP operations are shared between the two of us, things have been a little behind these last couple months and we're in the process of training some extra hands so that all goes smoothly when our baby girl makes her appearance. I'm doing quite a lot better than I was first trimester, but still playing catchup!

A very sweet FedEx delivery driver gave me his fan theory for what we "do" while dropping off a large box at our house today. He asked if we make crafts - because he saw our stone hedgehogs on the front steps, and saw that we get packages for a business called Hedgehog Precision, so it made perfect sense! Our business is making these animal rocks! It was so hilarious and sweet, and I got to tell him the massive box he was dropping off was actually full of dried fly larvae. 🥰🤣
Our boy Sploot wins today's award for the Most Grubby Piglet. 🐖 He was literally tinted grey/brown all over! He seems to be really enjoying himself during his turn in a bioactive setup. 😆

Random fun fact - we try to catch every new customer who places an order and send them a brochure and samples depending on what they're getting. I always say "thank you [yourname]!" when prepping these orders, as if you all can hear me from whatever state/country you're from. 😅🥰
We got a different version of "white" in our most recent basin order for wheels, so it was a good day for updated wheel photos! Everyone I bothered for photos was a great model, but Aslan especially just cracks me up. It's the beady eyes! 😆

We are so happy to be celebrating Martin's 4th birthday today! 🥳 He is a very dear character in our family and his presence is appreciated extra as he had emergency surgery and nearly died when he was about 6mo old. After caring for him around the clock in a mini ICU for over 2 weeks, he pulled through and has continued to be the wiggliest little grubby piglet in the house! He celebrated today by getting to anoint with ✨all the things✨

The last two years in particular prices on everything have been skyrocketing - I have held my ground on not raising the prices on our products, but I'll be honest - we are not making enough right now to cover our expenses. My husband and I (Nathan and Kimberly) have personally bootstrapped this company from the ground up, and are incredibly proud of what we have accomplished! Our personal funds are beyond depleted between funding the business and our own recent unexpected costs.
The absolute biggest thing you can do to help us out is to recommend Hedgehog Precision to other hedgehog owners! And we are always so grateful for reviews here on Facebook, or feedback/testimonials shared.
Because I own this company, I'm not allowed to talk about it in most Facebook groups (yes, it's ridiculous, yes, it makes me afraid to even help out with non-diet related things because it can be read as me "promoting" my own company). Meanwhile any customer ever can share their experience and feedback / recommend anything. 🤷♀️ So if you are one of our customers out there recommending us, THANK YOU so much! It honestly makes me really sad to not be able to tell people about solutions to hedgehog care problems I have dedicated my life to addressing.
Okay, soapbox / vent over - long story short I have immense anxiety about advertising my own products, but I am trying to do better!

If you're interested but not sure how frequently to order, our recommendation is a 2lb bag every 2 months or x2 2lb bags every 4 months (most efficient to ship). The average adult hedgie goes through about 1lb of kibble a month!

Insect Stock update 12/31/22 😔
We experienced a devastating loss of 90%+ of our dubia roach operation Christmas weekend after a power failure during -10* temps. They're a large part of our business, and we're still figuring out how to salvage and rebuild what we spent the last 3 years investing in.
We do have a backstock of Bug Blocks, so those won't go out of stock immediately. But until we can build back up, we won't be able to offer more dried dubia, or live dubia. In the meantime, every purchase you make with us is extra appreciated as we deal with a large loss of income. 🦔

Sooo our rescue girl Birch is not only the cutest goodest girl but also made the most perfect babies!! 😭😍 Literally to die for. (Birch and Maple were both pregnant when we took them in - thankfully they have done great!)
