A STORY OF QUID PRO QUO
This li'l guy is Quetzalcoatl. He lived in the streets of China and was fed by some nice people who sometimes let him sleep in a gym. Then a car smashed his leg and those nice people could not help him anymore.
We've put pins and wires in to his leg(o) and put the many broken pieces back together. Then offered him up for adoption.
Other than being utterly cute, he was also quite loud and was renamed appropriately to "Echo". He kept his new owner awake for 3 full weeks, not only did she have clogged airways each night, but a screaming cat at that.
Vets normally treat animals for diseases, but sometimes it's their psyche you have to be able to read. After being asked for help, we've discovered that he will never go all the way in to the bedroom. When the owner is in the living room he shuts up and goes to sleep. After evaluating that and other little tell tell signs, the recommendation was to try out the other room for that night and see how he behaves.
He slept peacefully on his owner's bed, not making a p*ep. She finally got her full night's sleep.
We both wanted to know what was in that room that was bothering him so much, and after some furniture moving and looking over, under and behind, a nasty patch of grizzly mold was discovered.
Mold is very unhealthy for mammals, and can cause severe respiratory distress, skin problems and in severe cases even neurological issues. Additionally, his owner had a clear breath night.
Quetzalcoatl - Echo has repaid his adoption. She has saved him and he saved her right back.
This is the type of story that makes our day. That we would be happy to report daily. This is what makes 1000 bad situations good again. This is what skips our heart beats.
Good luck you two, in your forever after
