When the love between dog and dog trainer is real.
Loki's mom and dad are out of town. I come by and drop in dog sitting twice a day. At night, I'm here for a while. We play, snuggle, chill, and go potty before I feed him and go home. One of the things we both enjoy is couch time where I read, and he lays on top of me. He's a good boy, and I love being able to be here for him and his parents.

The 4th of July is coming, and with that comes the dreaded fireworks. For most pet owners, this night can be stressful knowing that their pets are going to have a hard time with the noise (mostly). But there is still time between now and then to get your pets used to the noise (at the very least).
Desensitization is so important for a well-rounded pet, and it doesn't matter how old your pet is. Desensitization, just like Socialization, can happen at any age. The best way I have found is by listening to these noises on a low volume (volume 3 or 4 as the highest) on the regular until your pet has no reaction.

During the summer months, when the temperatures are at their highest, keeping your dog hydrated and happy can sometimes be difficult.
Shaded areas, place cots, ice, cool water, pools, etc. All of these are a great way to keep your dog content in hot weather. But what about snacks? What can you feed your dogs to keep them cool, hydrated, and healthy?
This is a list of healthy snack options that can be given frozen or fresh, but remember moderation and no seeds/skin/pits.

"Kate took on our “twin” German Shepherds who had started to run the house. They had anxiety when separated from each other, one was overly obsessed with toys, and neither did well on a leash.
