another foul puppy farmer thankfully now closed down - 250 dogs and puppies! many have never had interaction with a human.........

thankfully not Groodles but sadly Labradoodles - intensive breeding for nothing more than profit..............

what sort of human being could run this kind of operation?

good to know those poor dogs are out of that hell and are now journeying on to more favourable and happy conditions. sad to know that the operators skipped out on a $273,000 fine by opting to close the business. :-(

More than 250 labradoodles have been surrendered following the closure of one of Tasmania's largest dog breeders, with the RSPCA saying it has been "overwhelmed" by the public's response to the problem of finding new homes for the animals.

RIP Trinity Lola........ we are deeply saddened to learn of the recent passing of the lovely Lola.

Trinity Lola passed away suddenly at 12.5 years of age - we are thinking of her family and finding comfort knowing that she was greatly loved and in the many photographs that Lola's family shared with us over the years.

Always in our hearts xx

had a fun day at the Million Paws Walk today. beautiful weather made for a lovely lakeside walk.

we took our 'Most Handsome Boy' Axel (thanks to the Royal Sydney Show) and our 'Miss Perfect''Autumn (her recent hip/elbow tests came back as 'Excellent')

together they charmed folks and made new friends; we entered a few raffles and competitions; found some new products and services that may be of some interest to our Trinity Groodles families; enjoyed a beautiful walk by the lake; saw some lovely swans and generally had a great day.

it's a bit of a tradition with Trinity Groodles so we will be back in 2025 :-)

A while ago I watched a very interesting program on SBS One about WW1 -

the program talked about the role of dogs. Many dogs of different breeds were used for hauling and guarding purposes as well as messengers and laying cable in the field..............................

the most interesting pieces of info were:

1. in Verdun, the French trained a dog to locate injured soldiers in the field. the dog would locate the soldier and retrieve the soldiers helmet, return to the trenches which would trigger the medics to go out, locate and bring the injured soldier back for treatment

2. during the battle of Verdun a total of 17 human (soldier)
messengers were sent out to deliver messages and all were shot.

One dog was sent out to deliver a message - it got through! The dog delivered it within minutes of release into the field................

when we remember the many, many people who perished during the war efforts and particularly this ANZAC Day - please take a moment to remember all of the dogs that were trained and used to provide a variety of services to support the troops - both on the front lines and behind the lines.................................

Another year around the sun and our gorgeous girl Trinity Annie turned 14 this long weekend................... still got what it takes when it comes to bouncing around and keeping the others in check.......................... a testimony to raw feeding & good breeding :-)

Happy Barkday weekend Annie - celebrated with birthday bones and her fave doggo friendly, lentil muffins................

This weekend has been such a special one and Trinity Annie is the reason why we will never let one of our dogs go wanting..........

Annie's story:

stand by our dogs for their entire life. We will never let one of the puppies that we have bred ever go wanting and this is the story of Annie.

Annie was born on Australia Day. She was selected by a family who had a child with a disability to be trained as an assistance dog.

Due to the specific nature of the requirement (we had a number of our puppies go into work as assistance and therapy dogs) we ensured that she was up to the task by having her tested using the same criteria that is applied to the selection of guide dogs.

Needless to say, Annie passed with flying colours.

We retained her, at the request of the new owner to do some initial training, which was all completed and at the age of 4 months Annie was transitioned to her new home.
I personally delivered Annie to her new home complete with her puppy pack. This was on the Queens Holiday weekend, I delivered Annie on the Friday.

On the following Tuesday (3 days later) we got an interesting call from an Animal Shelter that was located approx 3 hours from us.

They called to advise that they had one of our puppies in their care............. and it was Annie!

We immediately organised to go and get Annie and after a 6 hour round trip she was back with us safely at Trinity Groodles.

The staff member that we met at the Animal Shelter showed us the paperwork that the owner had provided at the time of surrender and OMG!

They had advised they had had her since she was 8 weeks old............. they advised that she was kibble fed! and so many other untruths were told. When we talked to them about the situation that Annie had found herself in the Animal Shelter staff were speechless. They released Annie to us along with copies of the surrender documentation.

On that day Annie came home with us and she has never left us.

She is a fantastic dog and to this day we still cannot understand why someone would keep a dog for 3 days, having said they wanted a very specific dog for a very specific purpose, only to dump it at a pound.

If the family had come to us and talked to us they would have discovered that we would have 100% refunded all of their money and taken Annie back but they did not do this - instead they decided to callously dump her.

I can only thank God that the Animal Shelter called us and that she did not fall into the hands of foul puppy farmers.

So if you wonder why we ask lots of questions, screen prospective owners, want to meet you and have you come to visit us. If you want to know why we prefer to build a community of pet parents and engagement - Annie is the reason.

Annie is currently in our backyard with her best friend Mavis - Annie an awesome member of our family and always will be.

Stay pawsome!
