Here's some photos of two coats and bows I recently finished. The brown dog coat was a Harris tweed jacket in its former life and the blue dog coat was a pair or Harris tweed trousers. One coat has a waterproof lining and the other has a warm and fluffy lining.

-dee-dog came about when I needed a coat for Stan and couldn't find any that were a good fit. After quite a few attempts I managed to make one that we're happy with. This was made from a jacket and has patches and seams in it. To us it adds to the character. Proud to reuse and recycle.

All we need to do now is get modelling tips from Boo as Stan thinks posing for the camera is a great game and refuses to sit still 🤣

Managed to find this gorgeous jacket for sale on marketplace. I combined collection of the jacket with a dog walk, which was lovely as it's always good to walk a new area.

This jacket is ready to be deconstructed, laundered and the 100% wool tweed fabric used to make a bespoke dog coat. If you're interested in placing a order do please send me a message xx

Today's delivery of this woollen tweed dog coat and matching bow tie. I love the blue in this tweed, let's hope that Boo does too. This is a small sized coat so the fabric used came from a remnant.

Looking forward to seeing photos of this coat being worn when the weather changes but for now I'm happy to be enjoying the sun shining through my sewing room window.

A little bit about me:

My name is Cheryl and I am mum to 3 children. I work as a self employed seamstress doing lots of alterations and some dressmaking. I make items for a few local companies and also work as an employee at a school part time.

In my 'spare' time I like to do a bit of fun sewing and that's how the Twee-dee-dog came about. I am conscious of the waste fabric that comes from some products and want to do my best to use them.

I love the look and quality of Tweed fabric and decided that I will try and reuse Tweed wherever possible, so I seek about finding old jackets and turn them into dog coats.

I aim to make the coats to the highest of standard so they are long lasting. I use a waterproof lining fabric which is machine washable at 30⁰C (although hand washing the coats is preferable).

Each coat is unique as I make them as a one off. They have a padded removable tummy strap which completely comes off to allow frequent/necessary washing.

The photo shows a bow tie which is made to match a recent coat that I made. It is designed to be worn on the collar and has an elastic loop so it is easily removable.

Extremely pleased with how this order has come out. It has been made using a tweed fabric remnant which might otherwise have ended up in landfill.

The coat is made using a waterproof lining. The flap on the back houses a hole for access to the harness and it is lined with a waterproof layer so rain doesn't drip in the hole.

The padded strap is completely removable to enable frequent washing if necessary.

Prices start from £45 and are dependent on size.

Working with a 'double scotch all wool, made in Scotland' fabric remnant today and adding wadding to provide a quilted look.
The end product will be a waterproof dog coat for a Cockerpoo.
