Horseback riding is much much more than just sitting on a horse and moving it around.
Start them young.

🤠 National Day of the Cowgirl🤠
Is a celebration and recognition of the spirit of the American cowgirl – a spirit embodied by women who are strong, confident and resilient. Whether through farming and ranching, arts and culture or equine sports, the spirit of a cowgirl shines through women from diverse backgrounds who share a passion for the Western way of life.
Why is this day being celebrated or observed?
National Day of the Cowgirl honors women who embody the cowgirl spirit – those who tend livestock, those who are rodeo athletes, those with a strong passion for Western culture, those inspired by the west through music, food or fashion, and all those whose ride or die philosophy hinges on individuality, independence, and strength, building her own legacy the cowgirl way.
This observance was created to recognize and elevate the cowgirl way of life, spotlighting the unsung cowgirls who inspire us to keep the western spirit alive every day.
How should this day be celebrated or observed?
Each year, National Day of the Cowgirl should serve as an opportunity to celebrate the authenticity and diversity of the American cowgirl, educate the public on the important contributions Western women make toward society and encourage women everywhere to adopt the strength, confidence and resiliency embodied by the cowgirl lifestyle. - Copied from the NDA

If you give your child a pony, they will want to ride. You’ll buy them the best pony you can find, followed by a hat, boots and all the other things pony. You look for a local stables to ride at where you start to socialise with the horsey community...and then life as you know it, will end. Before you know it, they want to go to shows so you join BS …there will be no more lazy weekends watching TV. You will see more sunrises than you ever thought possible. Every spare minute of your time will be spent driving horseboxes and enduring a crazy addiction to practice for the next show. Your house may be a mess, and your car will be dirty. All because you gave your child a pony. Your weekends will be spent freezing or burning to death on a fold up chair. And their weekends will be spent gaining confidence and friends, learning new skills and having fun and getting dirty!!!! You will be there the day he or she takes the first few steps of canter, the first taste of a jump, first rosette, first win. And they will make you SO proud. Other parents will congratulate you, but you feel weird saying thank you because it's not you on the pony, it’s your child. It's everything that they did, they achieved. And right before your eyes, your little boy/girl will be transformed from the baby who bounced around on their rocking horse into an exceptional young horse enthusiast on the hunt for the next HOYS ticket or maybe even the Olympics! When you give your child a pony, you give them more than just something to ride. You give them a sport, a talent, hope and dreams. Friends, a new family, a place to learn about life, room to grow as a person where they can push their limits, and bravery, and courage, and memories. And they will have ALL of these things, simply because you gave your child a pony. Because you gave your child a pony, you too will develop new/lifelong friendships, developed solely from the same passion for the sport. You will have an equestrian
Jolene says come on let’s roll into this weekend already! Off we go for more races! This weekend is Casey! *If you’re a student (or parent) please get in touch with Jacelyn to schedule your August lessons by Sunday. Thank you.
One of our students Bailey with her horse Tonka! They have been working together for about a year now. This young duo make a great team. Did you know that it can take up too 6 years to train a “finished” barrel horse?!
