Looking for a project for a student (would be her personal horse, not a flip or lesson horse).

Must be started under saddle but green is fine. WTC sound, some issues are fine as long as it's not dangerous.

Mare or gelding, but must be able to be turned out with mares and small goats.
15-16hh, 4-14 years old
LOW 4s budget

She wants something that needs some work, something with personality, ideally grown out of "baby brain" but young enough that they can grow up together.

This mare is a saint, she let him ride her like this two days in a row 😅 💗

Opening for a boarder in Killingworth, CT

One spot available at a private farm - starting at $450 a month - Available Now

Full Care Board: opportunity to work off some of your board costs is available
Training and Lessons also available
All horses have 24/7 access to a nice run-in shed and about 1.5 acres of “natural” paddock with some grass but no real pasture, shared with my mare who has always lived out with other horses, and 2 small goats. Incoming horse must get along with others and cannot have hind shoes (safety concerns).

Horses have access to 1st cut hay all day, concentrate feedings x2 a day. Join our forage-based feeding program or provide your own grain.

No other facilities (we have a small tack/feed room but no ring, ect.) but 14 acres of land, some cleared and some open forest, is available for riding use. Walking distance to state forest trails and a town park with trails and 2 open fields.

PM with questions and to set up a farm tour.

Lucy, aka "Lucille", is a 16yo bay Appendix mare, about 15.3hh, in search of a new family.

She formerly gave lessons and was an amateur jumper but would like a more low-key job next. She is forward but soft in the bridle, and would be a great project for a teen/intermediate rider.

She has had some time off and needs someone quiet to bring her back into work. Lucy has been with us since May and is w/t ridable now. With more conditioning I have the upmost confidence that she will go back to being wtc sound and able to do some limited jumping.

She is currently barefoot and living in a run-in shed as she does need maximum turnout, but she could be stalled overnight. She does need a buddy, but gets along with others including goats.

Selling for a client - for sale or full ON FARM lease. Priced in the low 4s. TO GOOD HOME ONLY. References will be checked.
Located in Killingworth CT.

When we purchased our first home in September 2019, we planned to renovate the bathroom and take out one wall. A year and three-ish months later, we've thrown that plan out the window and gone all-in.
So far, we have: completely re-done the floorplan, replaced every window and door in the house and garage (except one), added an addition above the breezeway, a dormer on the back, two doghouse dormers on the front, added a front porch, cleared much of the back and side yards... and we still have a long way to go.

We never could have done this alone, we have so many people to thank for our progress so far. Some have put in a day here or there, provided food or supplies, but others put in time week after week. Thank you all so much ❤️

One week ago, the day after Christmas 2020, these two came to the farm. Thanks to Cheryl Gross who mediated the rescue, in partnership with Keirsten Riccio of PJ's Ponies and our own farm associate, Angie Mae - "Peanut" and "Rainbow" avoided having to test their luck at the auction and landed safely at G&K Farms.

"Peanut" aka Peanutbutter is a 9 year old 40in pony gelding who we are told is a blast to drive! He is a friendly little guy who seems willing to please, but definitely has a mind of his own!
He is staying with us through his quarantine and then will be adopted out through PJ's Ponies.

"Rainbow" aka The Rainbow Connection, aka Morgan, is a 15 year old Morgan (unnregistered) mare. We haven't measured her yet but she looks like she's gonna be a big girl once she fills out! She is sadly underweight, but has a great appetite and I am confident that she will be looking great by the end of the month. She is a sweetheart, though definitely skeptical of people, but she is getting more friendly and more comfortable with being touched every day.
She will be staying with us for a while, to get in better physical shape and to touch up on her training.

***Please note that these pictures show recently rescued horses who have been neglected. As such they are in need of things like hoof trims (which they are getting on Monday, 1/4), grooming and weight management (both of which they are actively getting now).

I haven't posted about these adorable little guys enough! They were feeling a little off so they got a week of anti-biotics and are now doing much better and are very energetic now! They're also much friendlier, and have been learning how to walk of leashes. They've had a few days tied on a long line, a few days on their leashes out in the horse paddock (the horses LOVE them) and this weekend they took their first walk with me around the yard!

Yesterday, our little Pony friend went off to a new wonderful home.
This left us with a little too much empty barn space, so today we picked up these two babies 😍 they are 3 month old Nigerian Dwarf goats, both wethers. The horses are very excited to have new friends, but these guys are so tiny that they're gonna stay separate for a little while 😅

They love when the shed is clean and fluffy 😂

Pony got some new bling! This little guy has come a long way since we got him only a couple months ago.
When he came here he was very uncomfortable being touched anywhere past his shoulder, didn't want to be caught, and completely panicked every time I took Treasure out of the paddock. He still has a long way to go but he will come to us for neck scratches now, we can pet him all the way across his back without him running off, and just the other day I was able to /lightly/ groom him without haltering him! Yesterday the ferrier came out and he was SO much better than the first time he had his hooves trimmed here. He's been all around the house construction, out in the woods with me, and we've ponied him off Treasure in the woods - he's not bothered by anything out there! We'll make him into a little trail pack-pony yet!

My wonderful husband Garrett brought us an awesome load of hay the other day! So nice to have the shed full so I don't have to run loads of hay in this heat!
