Walks with Gem A reliable, passionate and fully insured dog walker qualified in Pet First Aid. Occasional slots available pre-9am, post-6pm and at weekends.

I am available for both one-off and regular dog-walking throughout Cambridge between 9am and 6pm Monday to Friday. My one-off rates start at £16 per 30 minute walk, but I offer discounted rates for 60 minute walks and for regular clients. I offer a free 20 minute meet-and-greet to ensure that your dog is comfortable with me, and that I am confident I will be able to keep your dog safe. We did it! It's over! And not a moment too soon, as at the 1.7k mark on Sunday I had what could only be described as a tantrum. Key themes included "this is taking too long!", "how can there be so much litter?!", and "people are the WORST!!". Fortunately (or unfortunately for them), Chip and Mr Gem were there to help keep up the momentum.

150km of litter picking complete. LOADS of litter collected, sorted (for recycling) and binned. A good chunk of monies raised for WWF (sponsorship link below, for the last time).

It's been very gratifying at times. I'm sure I'll keep litter picking regularly in future. But not this week.

125k of litter picking completed. 25k to go!

We've been doing a lot of post-8pm litter picking this week, due to a combination of high daytime temperatures and my evening screaming commitments (choir and coxing). My heart sank a little when I came across this particular collection of rubbish at 2145 last night.

Chip and I will be very grateful for any further donations to WWF to keep us motivated for the final 25k! Huge thanks to everyone who has contributed so far 🐼🥰

Records are made to be broken, and Walks with Gem has a new biggest family member!

This beautiful girl is Freddie the Landseer Newfoundland. She loves her strolls along the river, particularly when they involve a paddle.

Freddie is currently enjoying her summer holiday with Walker Callum. Yesterday, she kindly welcomed a visit from Chip, who also grew to love her once he'd been convinced that she was not, in fact, a small cow!

Little Luna is having her first season, so sadly she cannot join her usual group walks at the moment.

Since we don't take dogs to the park when they are in season, she joined me for an 'ugly' walk around the local roads.

Hi folks, Chip here!

My mumma and I have been litter picking for 10 days now. As you can see from my massive yawn, I think it's a bit boring. Also, today the sky kept doing that thing where it pours water on us. I don't like that much, because it reminds me of when I lived alone outside and got very cold.

Anyway, we are doing the litter picking because my mumma says we have to do good deeds. Though I have noticed that there is a lot of overlap between good deeds and boring deeds.

Day 1 of litter picking for WWF complete!

To be honest, I woke up this morning regretting my decision to complete the daily 5ks by stopping every few metres to pick up rubbish. Why didn't I just decide to run the 5k each day so that it wouldn't be such a time commitment?

It did feel good to have removed all of this litter from the common though (I emptied my bag a couple of times when I came across bins, so it isn't even all pictured here)! Especially since this challenge is being done in the name of improving the environment. Any donations to WWF can be made at the below link, and will be much appreciated when I am trudging around collecting more tissues, beer cans and empty condom boxes over the coming weeks...

Piper has A LOT of siblings. At my last count, these included 1 horse, 2 guinea pigs, 3 cats, 4 humans and a flock of chickens, but to be honest I might have missed some. PUPPY POST!! - Comments from the clients. Walker Gem understands that I am a free spirit who needs to roam far and wide. She just asks that I 'check-in' with her every now and then so that she knows I won't stay away forever. In return, she gives me treats made of chicken. Walker Gem calls it a 'check-in for chicken'.
