Beagle Army A place for people to follow the Beagle Army in the adventures at their super secret Beagle HQ

06/10/2017

If you or someone you know is looking for a puppy (AKC beagle or rescue, we have rescue beagle mix and Chi mix that were delivered here) let us know of your interest quickly. We've yet to publish what we have available and they are still going quickly.

Just be aware we screen and interview even more intently at the holiday time of year to make sure the circumstances are good for you and your new family member. - Jeremy

Facebook has been nagging me to post something here for awhile lol so lets see.

We've been continuing our rescue efforts. We mostly don't work with the public, we work with a couple of other rescues as we don't have our 501.c.3 yet. We mostly rescue from shelters in Waco and Brownwood (in Texas). Eventually our rescue will have its own page called RockyTopRescue.

I've not been making the progress I'd like on our boarding kennel. Hate to admit it but age and injuries have been slowing me down, doing the best I can. We did a test run with a client and he didn't really seem to care for our setup. Really can't gauge how others will feel out our facilities if they are used to a ...less farm style setup I guess. Our Kennel is Beagle Acres.

Beagle Army is our page for http://www.Rockytopbeagles.us . That is our akc beagle breeding kennel. Most of the proceeds go towards supporting us, our kennel, and of course all our dogs. We currently have some older babies available for adoption both akc beagles and rescue chihuahua mix. Our stunning (and I mean STUNNING) lemon girl just had a litter and they are going fast, not even advertised and her litter is half gone. Don't hold me to it but I think the little girl at the top of the banner is our girl Emma, that or her sister.

My GI bill has run its course so I (Jeremy Nelson) am starting a job hunt, not sure what that's going to do with our efforts but should be interesting.

I didn't write this but I couldn't agree more. What very little money is made from breeding is spent (and then much much more) on rescue work.

I am a breeder. I spend a lifetime learning pedigrees, going over dogs, talking, and learning from those in my breed and those outside it. I raise each litter as if I gave birth to them and spend an equal amount of time finding them loving forever homes. I only put puppies on this planet that I think will be the healthiest (mentally and physically) and nicest examples of their breed. I support each family who chose one of my puppies and let them know they are now a part of our extended family. I am there if one needs to come back. I support my breed in rescue and education. I hold them when they arrive and leave this world. I share my knowledge and socialize my dogs so that they will be the advertisement for my dedication. I don't keep track of the money and time I put in to my love of dogs, it would not be a true measure of how I feel. The price I charge for my puppies is never profit, but investment in the next generation. I am not ashamed of who I am... I work hard at being a good dog person and encouraging others to be the same. I am a breeder and I am proud of it. If we don't support each other - we are doomed as a fancy.

The Beagle Army will be moving soon from the Beagle HQ to their new digs at Beagle Acres. We had hoped to have them moved by the 10th but with the heatwave that week and unlucky scheduling with delivery we are now hoping for the 20th.

Starting off with one building for them, it will be air conditioned and will have a "big ass fan" 24inch industrial fan. Our new cottage will have double windows in the living room facing the Beagle Army's pasture which should be 20 x 60 to start. Their building will be under four well established, well rooted shade trees so they should be some happy campers!

THE BEAGLE ARMY IS COMING HOME!

The Beagle Army is on the move! Orders have been received and the packing of HQ is starting soon. What does this mean? It means we have an opportunity to have the Beagle Army home with us again instead of only seeing them a few hours a day but we need your help to make it happen. This move also means that we will be able to take in rescue Beagles as well as foster rescued Beagles on the new 15.4 acre Beagle Army Headquarters.

Hi guys, Due to someone sticking their nose in where it doesn't belong, we have been forced to relocate the beagle army to a beagle haven, on a farm. Unfortunately its over 50 miles away from us, and where they are used to sleeping in our beds, we must stay where we are for Jeremy to finish schoo...

Wow what a night for the Beagle Army!

I had Nell (and last week her sister Rachel) in my room because they are on the any minute program for labor. I was getting ready to go to bed around midnight last night and noticed she was panting. I keep my room pretty cold so I knew it was labor related. It didn't seem to be too constant so we decided not to stay up all night.

I woke up around 4am (I run to the latrine a fair amount, not prostate related thank God) and noticed that now she was shivering. At this point I decided to stay away just encase. Two hours later not only had Nell burrowed into my closet and had a puppy, but Brooke (Claire's daughter and Emma's litter-mate) was in labor and already had two puppies!

Busy busy night. Ended up five hours later with six health babies each, 6 tri's and 6 lemons. Great additions to the Beagle Army!

This is one of our precious little boys from one of our championship bloodlines. He has a home which he will be going to soon! His parents can't wait to pick him up.

Everything truly is bigger in Texas.

The search for a new home for the Beagle Army continues as our current lease expires in October. While our landlord has been a saint he has plans for the land current occupied and the expense involved in driving to where they are could be used in many better ways.

I hate to admit that the search for a small plot of land has proved to be really frustrating, much easier to find 220 acres than 5 or 10.

While it's too early to get excited, we have found a potential site that would give our little guys some lake front views. The land is "raw" but we've never been afraid of a little hard work.

Wish us luck!

This week the Beagle Army is happy to announce that we will be fostering a over weight beagle, to get her healthy and ready for a new home, and providing shots for a litter of puppies so they can integrate with a rescue. We don't post this for selfish reasons, but so you can pat yourselves on the back, we wouldn't be able to do this without the support you have given us over the past year.

Press release from the Beagle Army

Our very first honorary member of the Beagle Army (rescue dog) was brought home from the front lines, the Beagle HQ, to recover from a hurt paw. Pablo has been making excellent recovery while resting in my bed for the last several days.

Upon her return from some well deserved family time, Secretary of the Army, Ellen Nelson, made the call and decided to permanently station Mr. Pablo at the Beagle Army Rear Detachment.

While the boot camp recruits might be a little more than Pablo wants to deal with, we think he'll manage okay.

Press release from the Beagle Army

It's with great sadness that the Beagle Army announces the passing of Gen Blue. Gen Blue died of natural causes last week and was proceeded by Gen Buddy and Senator's Angel, Charlie and Sam. While those that Gen blue leaves behind are numerous, Beagle Army members include son's,COL Ben, LTC Littleman, and daughter 1SG Ginger.

Secretary of the Army Ellen is still considering who will be stepping into the top stud position. "Gen Blue left us before his time. He has many capable subordinates. Unfortunately due to his early passing they have yet to make it obvious who the choice should be."

Col Red has long assumed to be the successor in waiting. Col Red has already been passed for the position when Gen Blue joined the Beagle Army. With Col Red's age and the sympathies towards LTC Littleman for the loss of his father, it's hard to say who will get the position.

Ceremonies have been held for Gen Blue at the Service in Memorial Cemetery located at the Beagle Rear Detachment. He was buried with full honors.

Time: 0550
Place: Beagle Army Training and Operations center.
Mission: Stealth attack on senior training members.
After Action Review:

In the early hours before dawn a squad of six junior soldiers commenced operation "Pounce". Cpl Sweet Pea lead the squad in a sneak attack on SGT Nelson with the hope of catching him if not asleep, at least bleary eyed and unprepared. Pvt lemon and Pvt red led the charge, occupying the forces at the CP (check point) which was commanded by SGM Daisy. While Pvt Lemon rolled over exposing his belly in a move attempting to show no hostility, Pvt Red charged straight at SGM Daisy taking her out of the fight. With the CP taken out PFC Tri-color and SPC Blue Ticked flanked SGT Nelson's position. As they approached SGT Nelson awoke from his slumber in his computer chair, the two advancing members of the squad performed a maneuver designed to confuse and distract the defending forces, leap off all four paws straight in the air. While misdirection was taking place Cpl Sweet Pea called in for air support, LT Emma flying an AC-10 started an attack run on SGT Nelson's position. As the bombing run was concluding Cpl Sweet Pea brought the remaining forces to bear and completed a dominating attack suffering no losses.
