Adoptable dog Barbie is killing it with her obedience training! She is one smart puppy and has the potential to learn so much more with a dedicated owner! Barbie is only 7 months old and is ready to get out of the shelter and into a forever home! She was adopted as a young puppy but returned for being too much energy for them. Barbie is a German shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix, so she is active and will do best with a family that can give her daily mental and physical stimulation. She has done well on pack walks but may take some time to get acclimated to being around other dogs. She gets really excited and will jump up, which we are working on! She is a friendly dog and just needs some structure to help guide all of her excitement. She absolutely loves people and is a little social butterfly! If you want to meet Barbie, stop by the shelter during open kennel hours Monday-Saturday 1:00-5:00 or call (805) 781-4400 to make an appointment to meet her!
Zorro is FULL of personality! He loves doing zoomies, playing in the water, and playing fetch! He even knows to bring the ball back and drop it at your feet! Zorro knows his basic obedience, is well mannered, seems friendly towards other dogs, and is super smart! We think Zorro is one of the most adoption-ready dogs here! He is 6 years old and is listed as a husky/pittie mix. To meet Zorro stop by the shelter during open kennel hours Monday to Saturday 1:00-5:00 or call 805-781-4400 to make an appointment to meet him!
Adoptable dog Blue knows how to self-entertain…give him a tennis ball and he is content! Blue is the most snuggly, sweet pittie mix and is sure to win you over with his lovable personality! He absolutely loves people and is happiest when he is around staff and volunteers! Imagine how happy he will be when he finds his forever home and has a family to spend all his time with! Blue came in with another dog and appears to be dog friendly. He isn’t overly playful with other dogs, but also isn’t reactive in any way. His kennel appearance is not great and he barks when people walk by (not in an aggressive way, just as if he is talking to get their attention). We think this behavior might not be very inviting for potential adopters. Blue doesn’t seem to have a mean bone in his body and will make the right family very happy…you just have to get him out of his kennel to see what a good boy he is! He is strong on the leash and could use some training so that he doesn’t pull as much. Other than his leash skills, there really isn’t anything subpar about Blue! He is every pittie lovers dream! To meet Blue, call 805-781-4400 to make an appointment or stop by during open kennel hours Monday to Saturday 1:00-5:00!
