Yep, today we're talking dog poo! The good thing is, as a dog parent, this subject doesn't turn you off, but helps you to gain knowledge into your pup's health by recognizing issues with their 'output'!
If you Google what a normal dog poo consistency should be, you'll probably see the following...Normal, healthy dog p**p is typically chocolate brown, formed and segmented like a log, and firm enough to hold its shape when picked up.
My PERSONAL experience with my 2 dogs that had either loose stools or frequent ear infections led me to experiment with different types of foods. After trial and error, I personally discovered 2 of 3 of my dogs did not respond well to poultry (chicken OR turkey). Whether dry kibble, canned or homemade, anything with poultry caused either severe loose stools or reoccurring ear infections. After researching and trying different dog foods, we found that beef or salmon worked great for our pups to fix these issues. *Eliminating poultry worked great for our 2 pups that had these issues. ** A vet can perform allergen tests for your pets to help determine their specific issues!
