Hello everyone, today I want to shine the spotlight on three incredible dogs who are in need of our help. Please meet Princess, Sadie, and Angus.

** UPDATE ** SADIE AND ANGUS have been adopted

First, we have Princess, a beautiful 9-year-old German Shepherd who is searching for a new foster home in the Chicagoland area. This lovely lady is crate-trained, which makes her transition into a new home much easier. From what we know, Princess seems like an all-around good girl who would make a wonderful low-key dog.

Next, we have Sadie and Angus, a dynamic duo from the Madison area who are looking for a forever home together or separately. These two friends are 4 and 5 years old, respectively, Although they're currently a package deal, they can go together or separately. They're a little shy but warm up quite quickly.

What's most important to know is that all three dogs are up-to-date on their vaccinations and have been spayed or neutered, so you can welcome them into your home with confidence. If you're ready to open your heart and home to one (or two!) of these amazing dogs, please don't hesitate to reach out. Let's get these guys into their ideal scenarios.

Hi guys! We have an open slot for training on Monday at 4pm.

As always we will have our group walk at 7pm on Thursday.

Thursday I have an open slot for a private session at 2pm. There is also the open training at 7pm! This week it will focus on threshold manners.

Friday has an open slot at 2pm for a private session.

Sunday we will be in Manitowoc for the Barks and Brews event. If anyone would like to ride down with me let me know!

Have a great week guys! Keep working hard. 💪

Hi guys! We have a 4pm private available tomorrow!

I'm planning for a 630pm walk on Tuesday. Perfect for working on reactivity and getting some exercise in for your canine.

Additionally, I'll be hosting an open class with my dogs on Thursday, August 23, 2024, at 7pm. This week's topic will cover the proper use of prong collars and the importance of timing when rewarding desired behaviors. This is a great opportunity to practice and build your handler skills with dogs that have already developed these behaviors!

Hello everyone! I'd like to introduce you to Alita, a lovely Rottweiler who has joined us for training before finding her forever home. Alita was rescued from the Hot Springs Animal Control in Arkansas, where she was initially slated for euthanasia due to her behavioral issues. However, after a brief period of time and effort, she demonstrated a sweet and biddable nature, leading to her being pulled from the shelter. Although she may present some challenges, a dog-savvy household is well-equipped to handle her needs.

Currently, we're working on addressing some resource guarding and reactivity issues to ensure she's ready for her new family. At about a year and a half old, Alita is spayed and up-to-date on all her vaccinations. She will also be receiving entropian surgery and some extra TLC before being adopted. As Rottweilers can be a challenging breed, I'll be selective in finding the perfect home for Alita - one that provides firm yet fair guidance and understands the unique needs of this breed.

If you're familiar with Bender's charming personality, you'll be delighted to know that Alita shares a similar temperament. She's just as affectionate and loving, but does require a bit more support in new situations, where she can be less confident. I'm committed to helping her build her confidence, and with the right guidance, she'll be a wonderful companion. If you're ready to provide a nurturing, firm yet fair environment and help Alita reach her full potential, this could be the perfect opportunity for a new addition. I'll begin accepting applications for her adoption once she's received the necessary care and is ready for her forever home.

Have you ever wondered why the minimum age for hip and elbow clearances is 24 months?
OFA hip and elbow clearances look at the conformation of the joints to evaluate if there are any deformities or evidence of disease. While preliminary results are generally reliable, the accuracy of the final grade and the ability to diagnose hip dysplasia increases at 24 months of age. Degenerative arthritic changes secondary to hip or elbow dysplasia can take time to appear on radiographs, especially mild cases. The 24 month mark has been shown to be reliable for diagnosis because it ensures growth is complete and allows for degenerative changes to be seen. This age is also still young enough to allow breeders and owners to make informed decisions for the dog's future.

Offleash freedom, or the ability for a dog to run and play without the restriction of a leash, can be an important aspect of a dog's welfare. Hiking with your dogs can provide an ideal setting for some offleash freedom. It is important to note that letting your dog offleash should only be done in safe and controlled environments. Here we have Sushi, Arrow, and Chappie on a frozen lake near Laona.
