Every year, we come together with our incredible supporters, volunteers, and trustees to celebrate another year in rescue! 💖 It’s a time to infuse some love and positivity, lightening the weight of the challenges every animal rescue faces. 🐕🐾 This event is all about hope, joy, and love—directed straight at the beautiful brave animals we care for. 🥰🐶

🐾💙 Meet Baby Albert: A Story of Patience and Rescue 💙🐾

This is Baby Albert, a sensitive soul who was found in the heart of a small town, surrounded by shops and people—yet completely ignored. For nearly a week, we watched him wait on a small patch of grass outside the shops, growing skinnier each day. 💔 Despite being surrounded by busy streets and countless passersby, no one stopped to help.

During that week, we searched for a safe place for him, hoping he would be okay until we could bring him into our care. Finally, a spot opened up, and now Baby Albert is safe with us. 🛡️🐶

He’s a gentle boy, still learning to trust and in need of a quiet, calm home where he can feel safe. Albert is only very young yet his journey has been a long one for him so far, but we’re determined to find him a loving forever family who can give him the peace he deserves.

❤️🐕 Street Feeding: Bringing Comfort to Hungry Souls 🐕❤️

Another day, another street feeding run, and more precious dogs who need our help. Many of these dogs have endured so much that they are scared to trust again. Sometimes, despite being so hungry, they will wait until we leave before approaching the bowl. 💔

In Serbia, life on the streets is especially harsh, with limited food, freezing winters, and the constant threat of mosquito-borne diseases like heartworm.

We are committed to reaching as many dogs as we can, making sure they don’t go hungry. But we need your support. By donating or sharing our campaign, you can help us continue this vital work. Together, we can bring a little hope to dogs who need it most. 🍲❤️

🐾🏠 Lara, Hana & Winnie: Ready for Their New Chapters 🏠🐾

Three of our beautiful girls from the “Pansion” (Пансион)—a safe haven where rescued dogs can heal, grow, and learn to trust again. In Serbian, “pansion” means a boarding home, a place where dogs who were once abandoned can finally feel secure and loved. 💚

Lara, Hana, and Winnie each have their own story of being left behind, but they’ve come so far since finding safety with us. Today, they are healthy, happy, and ready to embark on their next journey—finding a loving forever home. 🐶❤️

These girls are so full of love to give, and we’re excited to see them start their adoption journey. If you’re interested in adopting or know someone who’s looking to welcome a new family member, please reach out or share their story. Let’s help them find the homes they deserve! 🏡🐾

🐾💚 Whispering with Olive: A Journey to Trust 💚🐾

Meet Olive, a sensitive little soul who’s been through so much. We rescued her from a large, intimidating shelter where she was terrified. Since then, she’s been on a journey of recovery—physically and emotionally. 🩺💔

Thanks to the incredible support from our Whispaws community, Olive has beaten Distemper, a battle she should never have had to face. But the journey isn’t over. She’s still learning to trust, and it’s the quiet moments that comfort her the most.

It’s amazing to see her slowly open up, even if just a little 🌿🕊️

Meet Senka (which means ‘Shadow’ in English) 🖤🐾 — our beautiful boy with a heart of gold and a love for high-fives! ✋🤍

Senka was discovered living alone in the woods, abandoned and desperate for help. Whenever he tried to approach a nearby house, hoping for kindness, he was met with stones thrown to drive him away. 💔 Despite all this, Senka never lost his gentle spirit.

Thankfully, an English lady staying nearby noticed his plight. She began feeding him in the woods, offering him the first bit of compassion he’d known in a long time. 🌳❤️ She reached out to us, and with her help, we were able to bring Senka into safety.

Today, Senka has found his place among our other rescue dogs in the Pansion, where he’s finally getting the love and care he deserves. He’s healthy, thriving, and absolutely loves showing off his high-fiving skills whenever he wants a pat! 🐶🤚

It’s incredible to see the transformation of a dog who once knew nothing but fear and loneliness. Every rescue like Senka’s is a reminder of why we do what we do — because every dog deserves a chance at a better life.

The new Whispaws Street Feeding campaign is going well, but it’s truly heartbreaking to see so many beautiful dogs still struggling on the streets 🐾💔

Our team is working hard to provide food, care, and comfort to as many dogs as possible, but the need is immense. Every bowl of food we serve makes a difference, but we can’t do it alone.

🐾🩺 Monthly Vet Visit for the Whispaws Crew! 🩺🐾

Today was a big day for our rescue dogs as we welcomed our trusted vet for their monthly check-up! In Serbia, street dogs face more significant health risks than their counterparts in other parts of Europe due to mosquito-borne diseases like heartworm. That’s why preventive care is an absolute priority for us.

During these vet visits, we focus on administering prevention medications, conducting thorough health checks, and testing for heartworm and other illnesses that can severely impact their well-being. Early detection and regular treatment are vital to giving these dogs a fighting chance at a healthy life.

Each visit ensures our dogs are not just well-fed and loved, but also protected from the diseases that are far too common here. Your support makes it possible for us to continue this lifesaving work—whether it’s providing preventive medications, testing kits, or emergency treatments. Every little bit counts!

SO HAPPY to announce our new Spay & Neuter programme 🙏🏼 now operating through two veterinary practices in Serbia. Aiming to reduce the amount of puppies abandoned to the streets, this is vital work going forward. As funds allow we will continue to expand this project and of course keep you all updated with progress 💜 Admittedly some of the images aren’t nice at all but these are the updates we receive from the vets and transparency is super important. We will endeavour to show less graphic images as the amount of operations increase!

September was a busy month for our street feeding campaign.

Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to purchase three 5kg bags of food, as well as cover fuel costs, allowing us to feed all these dogs and more every day. We will continue this effort each month, as long as funds allow.

Additionally, as foster home spaces become available, we aim to take in as many dogs as possible for neutering and, hopefully, adoption 💜

Lovely little Lara! The sweetest face and still just a pup.

Lara was found on the streets and taken in temporarily by someone. Now she is in a loving foster home waiting for her forever family. Lara was quite timid to begin with but now she is much more confident and playful.

She is walking well on the lead already and responds to training well. An intelligent little girl. Luckily no health issues as she was rescued early and given medical care straight away.

Beautiful Sofi is a soft sweetheart. So loving.

She was found abandoned in the Serbian countryside outside Novi Sad. Her diagnosis was unfortunately Distemper but after isolation and intensive treatment has now recovered, she also had heartworm and is recovered from that too. The girl is a fighter!

Since her recovery from Distemper Sofi has residual neurological damage taking form of twitching in her legs. This could possibly subside over time but there is no guarantee. Sofi still walks well and enjoys her play. We are happy to work with Sofi’s adoptee on further treatment into her future, considering methods that may be available for her in the UK.

Little Hana was found on the streets as a small puppy. She was taken in temporarily by a family nearby but could not stay indefinitely. Hana is now in foster care waiting for her forever home.

Playful and fun Hana is an absolute beauty. Thankfully she wasn’t on the streets for long so has only known fun and play. She is good with cats and children, is training well on the lead and is in tip top health.

Dzeki or Dzek (pronounced Jeki) is a loveable fun and calm boy.

Trained on the lead but isn’t socialised with cats. He was found on the streets and taken in by our rescuers. We know nothing about his past but for the present he is calm, fun and well socialised with other dogs.

He was diagnosed with Heartworm and has almost made a full recovery.
