Clearwings, of the 70’s and 80’s used to be as their name implies birds with clear unmarked wings. I always remember a gorgeous Whitewing violet my brother bred, one of my favourite birds. So I’ve been working on my clearwing project trying to improve and clear the wings. And this is where I have got to so far. I need to bring the depth of colour back into the birds but from the birds I started with, this is a huge improvement.

Haze, violet spangle c**k, Pirate cobalt spangle c**k, Bluebell normal cobalt hen and Viola normal violet hen. All keepers. (as most of my babies are) Mum and dad currently have a 2nd clutch of 5😊 mum is my Violet a violet spangle recessive pied and dad is Hugo a normal violet
