What you are bringing home when you choose a puppy from us -
Our puppies are raised in our home. Everyday, from ages 3 days to 16 days, we perform ENS (early neurological stimulation) with each puppy. They are placed on a de-worming schedule at 1 week and continues until 8 weeks when they leave for their new homes. At 6 weeks, the puppies make a trip to our veterinarian for health checks, 1st shot

s and insertion of microchips. We also begin teaching them to go to the grass outside to potty. We spend a lot of time socializing our puppies with children and other pets. Depending on the weather and time of year, they spend some time playing in a wading pool to teach them not to be afraid of water. We strive to give them the experiences they need to grow into well adjusted dogs. Puppy Purchase:
If you have decided on a puppy from us, you will be emailed a copy of our puppy contract. Please read over it and message us if you have questions. Reviewing the contract is required prior to placing your deposit. You do not need to print or sign until picking up your puppy. By paying the deposit, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions. Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE. FAQ Section:
When will you have another litter? we only breed our girls once a year, but occasionally we may skip a year. How much are your puppies? puppy pricing depends on on what dam is having the litter. Can I be placed on a waiting list for future puppies? We can add you to our waiting list for either Magnolia or Aspen's litter at any time. Message us for information on how to pay your deposit. When do we get to pick out our puppy? picks are chosen around 3-4 weeks and go in the order we receive deposits. You can schedule a time to come to our home, or we can send pictures, videos or FaceTime you to help make your selection. Can I come to your home to look at the puppies? No. For the safety of ourselves and our dogs, we do not allow visitors to our home to browse. If you are a buyer and have paid a deposit, you will be allowed to visit at the time of puppy picks and on puppy pick-up day.

Today, Timber crossed the rainbow bridge where he was met by his girls, Aspen and Maggie Grace. This is the only thought that brings us any peace. Thank you to all our Whiskey Ranch family that has reached out to us or said a prayer in the last few weeks while we navigated his illness. We appreciate all of you. Please hug your fur babies a little extra today in honor of their father, Timber. 🐾

To all of our Whiskey Ranch Retriever family,
I write this to you with the heaviest of hearts. Timber was diagnosed with cancer the first of the year and underwent surgery to remove the tumor which was located on his foot.
We discovered yesterday, the cancer has returned and has metastasized. He is home with us on meds to keep him comfortable.
The tumor began on his paw as what the vet believed was a ‘cyst’. It was drained at the time and that began a very rapid growth which required a trip to LSU vets for surgery to remove it and with it, a toe. The biopsy results came back as hemangiosarcoma, an aggressive cancer well known in the golden retriever breed. His was classified as cutaneous, which is the odd part of this story, because it’s due to sun exposure on short haired dogs. Timber has never lived outdoors and has a very long, thick coat.
We genetically test all of our dogs, however, cancers are not included in canine genetic testing. While the cancers are considered ‘genetic’ in theory, it’s because they cluster and are usually specific to certain breeds. Timber having cancer does not mean his puppies will develop cancer. In fact, his is believed to be from environmental factors- pesticides, chemicals, sun exposure, etc.
As we spend what short time we have with our favorite boy, we hope you hug and love on his many little offspring he has left as a legacy. He will always be remembered as our gentle giant. Full of love and life with a great affinity for tennis balls and swimming. Say some prayers of comfort for him and all of us. We will update when possible. While we are so thankful for all our Whiskey Ranch families who have chosen us for their “furever” family member, we regret to say that we will not have any future litters at this time. Due to an unfortunate incident, the girls got out and Maggie is no longer with us. We fear the same for Aspen who has blessed us with all your beautiful Whiskey Ranch babies. Please continue to share your pictures and updates and keep our family in your thoughts and prayers. 💗

At least eight dogs have died after swimming in ponds. Likely, liver failure was brought on by ingesting water contaminated with toxic blue-green algae.
