This handsome young pup is Billy. Billy came to Ruby's from a rural Arkansas shelter where he spent most of his life. Billy is 1.5 years old and does well with dogs AND cats (What??? Did you say cats?!?!).
Billy has attended a few Meet & Greet events and does very well interacting with new people of all ages. Billy can be a little shy but warms up quickly. He is gentle, knows a few commands, is UTD on vax and neutered. He would sure love to be in a forever home for Christmas.
Billy is being fostered in the Northwest Arkansas area. Please message us to set-up a Meet & Greet.
To all of our supporters, I only ask for donations when they are needed. Right now, we are in dire need of financial help. I am going to keep this fundraiser going for as long as I possibly can.
You can also donate via:
CashApp: $RubysRescueandRefuge
Venmo:
Our EIN # is 85-0658339.
In each photo, I explain what has been spent and what needs to be spent on each dog.
Please note that this does not include the ongoing care for the other dogs with Ruby’s Rescue & Refuge (food and annual vaccinations). You can see our current available dogs by checking out Petfinder.
If you are able to spare even $5.00, it really does help.
Please come see Frannie at the Best Friends Pet Resource Center (1312 Melissa Drive, Bentonville) today!
We are praying hard that today is HER day. Frannie adores all humans and would absolutely LOVE to meet you.
PLEASE SHARE!

Frannie is coming up on her 1-year anniversary with us which means we know SOOO much about this precious girl!
Frannie is a social butterfly. She LOVES people of all ages. During Meet & Greet events, she is the unofficial greeter. She GRAVITATES toward people.
She will calmly walk up to each and everyone and sit in front of the person. She never jumps. If the person stops for her and starts to pet her, she will slowly lean into them and then melt into the ground.
Frannie has attended many Meet & Greet events. With each one, she is not chosen. We gather up her toys and blanket and tell her that her family just isn't quite ready for her yet. We tell her how amazing she is and that her time will come (normally with tears in our eyes).
It hurts our hearts. Someone out there is really missing out on an incredible dog.
So she waits....
Why has she not been chosen? Well, Frannie is just an average-looking black dog. Sadly, there are just so many other dogs looking for a home that capture the eye of those looking for a dog.
PLEASE-It takes no time. SHARE FRANNIE. It could change her life. Someone is looking for her. Someone whose life could be changed by the love of this incredible, average-looking dog with an abundance of love to give. FRANNIE IS A TREASURE.
Thank you so much for caring for homeless pets. This is the 3rd year that Adventure Subaru has not only given us amazing donated items but has also sponsored a medical procedure for one of our dogs in need.
❤️

It's a beautiful sunny day here in Northwest Arkansas, so it makes PAWFECT sense to share SUNNY!
Sunny is not quite two years old, weighs 50 lbs and is a happy, healthy tripawd!
She is a PERFECT lady in the house (no crating needed), loves to fetch and enjoys sunbathing. She is also an A+ cuddler!
Please check-out Sunny's Petfinder profile to learn more about her.
Let’s start out the weekend with some good news…wait…not good, GREAT news!
Cowboy (now Cairo) has found his forever home. His new momma saw him on Petfinder and just knew that he would be their next dog.
Cairo enjoys walks with his dad and soaking up the sunshine in his very own backyard. Did we forget to mention a soft new bed that is all HIS? Cairo thinks he may have found what humans call “heaven” He’s got it all…a family who loves him and a safe, quiet home with people who care for him.
After a very long stay in a rural shelter, our foster, Mary, took Cairo in. Due to our unwaivering supporters, Cairo had his eye surgery and was ready to be adopted.
And look at him now!
Thank you to ALL of those who helped Cairo along his journey. He. Is. Home.

UPDATE: Thank you so much to a long time supporter of Ruby’s. He purchased the e-collar, and it is on its way. Thank you, Brian.
For anyone else who donated, I will put the money toward purchasing other items on our Wish List.
THANK YOU!
Happy Friday, everyone.
We try to not ask for money unless it is needed, and we run a very lean "ship" (like most all rescues). Our finances normally cover preventatives, vet care, food/treats (when necessary). We have a few regular donors (mostly family and a few dear friends-THANK YOU). We do a few fundraisers when absolutely necessary.
We are needing a few items that are outside of what I consider our regular budgeted items. We have two dogs needing some training for behavior issues.
Our tripod superstar, Sunny, is currently attending training with her foster parents. She is using the one e-collar we have. Ro (fka Rowan) is about to start training and will need his own e-collar (like the one pictured). These can be purchased on Chewy.com or Amazon. They run around $200.
If anyone is able to help or would even be willing to purchase, we would be very grateful.
You can donate via CashApp: $RubysRescueAndRefuge or
PayPal: [email protected].
We can also use some Dasuquin. Below is a link to our Amazon Wish List if you'd prefer to purchase an item.
Billy is 1.5 years old. He spent about a year of his short life in a shelter. Almost everything in this big world is new to Billy and can be rather scary.
Billy is looking for a home with another confident dog, where the family can be home most of the time with him (at least until he is more sure of his surroundings). He does well with other dogs AND CATS. One more time for those in the back, BILLY GETS ALONG WITH CATS!
Billy sure would love to know what it is like to have his very own home, lay on a couch, snuggle with his family and understand the feeling of "safe".
If you'd like to meet Billy, he is currently located in Bentonville, AR. Please message us.
Be the first to know and let us send you an email when Ruby's Rescue & Refuge posts news and promotions. Your email address will not be used for any other purpose, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Anyone looking for a swimming buddy this summer?
Well, Frannie is your girl! She loves the water. Not only is this girl a HUGE love bug (of humans and dogs), she also enjoys swimming, playing with toys and meeting (literally) everyone. At every Meet & Greet event she has attended, Frannie introduced herself to each person who entered the building. She is a social butterfly.
Frannie has been with us for a while now, and though we sure do love her; we'd prefer to see her in a home, on a couch with some cool air conditioning this summer. Please consider her if you are looking to expand your family. She is just the sweetest, happiest, most gentle girl.

Another Ruby's dog flourishing due to a loving foster stepping up to save him. Thank you, Sherri!
Colton was emaciated...part of a court case. Once relinquished, we snatched this senior gentleman up. He may not be a Spring chicken, but he sure acts like one. This guy LOVES to fetch and knows several commands.
His foster momma sent this video today. Look how healthy he is!
Next week, he will have the tumor removed from his hip. Another way we use the donations we receive from all of our wonderful supporters (THANK YOU!).
Happy Sunday!
Sunny Fetching
Happy Friday! Look how GREAT Sunny is doing after her amputation! We couldn't be happier nor more grateful.
A very special thank you to Sunny's foster parents. They are simply the best.
Go, Sunny, Go!
Sunny with 3 Legs
Update on Sunny.
Sunny is doing very well after her amputation. Her foster mom, Gina, picked up her up from the Vet on Tuesday. You can see just how excited she was to head home, by the happy wag of her tail in the video.
I am so grateful for and humbled by all of my fosters. Gina hasn't once complained about all of the medical needs Sunny has. Each challenge has been met with positivity and absolute dedication. I don't think there could be a better foster found for this special little gal.
Thank you to everyone who donated to her medical bills. Sunny will continue to get stronger. Right now, she is very loved and cared for. Exactly what every dog should be.
GRATEFUL.
Sunny heading home!

“I would never let a dog sleep in my bed...”
This was preceded by “I would never have a dog in my house...” Coming from an extremely OCD person, boy, did I have no idea what my future would hold! It all changed when I met a little scruffy, golden puppy with HUGE ears that was named “Ruby.” My goodness she was such a chunk! She was found out in the woods in Boxley Valley, Arkansas...supposed to be a squirrel hunting dog...supposed to live a life outside...not knowing a soft bed...
BUT once I fell in love, I fell HARD. I’ve been told that there is just that ONE dog...that ONE dog that grabs your heart and just won’t let go...and for me that was little Ruby. She is the smartest, most loving, precious dog I know. She is MY bestest buddy. Does she sleep with me? Of course! Share my pillow? 100%! My life has been forever changed by her, and my eyes have been opened to the absolute unconditional love of a dog.
Once that door was opened, I wanted, no, I needed to find a way to help more. I started volunteering at a shelter in Arkansas. I helped with transports, fundraising, grant writing, donations, cleaning pens, etc. Anything I could do, I wanted to. BUT I still felt in my heart I could do more. So...HERE WE ARE. I felt like I had been called to take my many blessings and open a shelter that would help those dogs that wait the longest to be adopted/fostered-the seniors, bully breeds and disabled.
My dream is to see the pups in a homelike setting with a yard to play in, to have them become accustomed and comfortable being around people and living within a schedule (much like the home they would one day go to). This would help with an easier transition.
Hard work. Yes. Tough times ahead. Definitely. But it is time to do something, and I am ready. So here we go...I will be forever grateful for my sweet Ruby, who loves me no matter what. There will never be another dog like her. God has been so good to me, and I know He will continue to guide me on this journey.
