We are looking for a home for Jessie, a stunning thirteen year old calico. She has been very loved for the past ten years but due to her mom's health issues she is looking to rehome her. Senior kitties don't do well in shelters so we are looking for someone to adopt or foster her to avoid bringing her into the shelter. She is spayed, up to date on her vaccines, and is in good health. She does not have any teeth but eats Science Diet Multiple Benefit food and treats with no trouble. She loves to be brushed and is very smart! She does hide whenever someone comes into the house but comes out as soon as they leave. She will do fine with other cats regardless of their age but prefers a home without dogs.

Topaz is a special young lady looking for her forever home. She has impaired vision, thought by the ophthalmologist to be the result of an infection she had when she was younger. She does have some vision, requires no medication or special care medically, and it doesn't slow her down in the least!

She is a high energy cat who prefers the company of humans over other cats and as such needs to be an only cat. She is companionable and enjoys when dinner guests come to visit. She enjoys playing but also loves finding the perfect sunny spot to snooze in.

As you are all aware, two weeks ago Peanut and her four kittens fell ill with feline panleukopenia.
Sadly we have to share that two of her kittens did pass away. All of us at AFoC are grieving for them and their families, and will always remember them. Thankfully Peanut and her two remaining kittens are doing well. One kitten is at home with her adopter. Peanut and the other kitten are recovering in our care and should be going home this week.

Since their diagnosis our dedicated team of volunteers we have been working diligently to ensure none of the other cats in our care become ill.

We greatly appreciate all the support that you, our followers, have offered and continue to offer. Thank you for the words of encouragement, the positive thoughts, the prayers, and the donations!! 🙏🙏

This means so much for our shelter! We are so grateful that Real Art Ways chose Animal Friends of Connecticut as their beneficiary this year!

For 73 minutes, patrons of Real Art Ways can enjoy videos of cats playing or otherwise acting adorable during the CatVideoFest, which kicks off on Aug. 9.

‼️‼️We are in urgent need of funding to help offset the cost of medical care for Peanut and her kittens which have been diagnosed with Feline panleukopenia (also called feline distemper).

Coco's week old babies are still developing their sense of smell and hearing. Whenever they hear something or get startled instinct causes them to hiss. Check out this adorable video she sent us! If you turn the volume up you can hear it's little hiss 😍😍

We are so grateful Frisky Feline Behavior Counseling spent some time with us this week! We learned some wonderful tips and strategies on how to work with our under socialized cats and kittens! Amy is such a wealth of knowledge and we soaked up the education she provided! She also works with the public.

Waverly!! A wonderful young cat that has come so far! She was so scared when she first came to the shelter. With time and patience she has come to realize she LOVES affection!! Her babies have gone to their forever home and she is now looking for a home to call her own. She requests a home with at least one other cat who will play with her. She's quite attached to her four legged foster brother and he lets her feel safe.

This beautiful young lady was rescued off the streets of New Britain last week. She was pregnant and we named her Coco. She went into labor Saturday morning at the shelter before we could get her to foster (human or feline babies seem to come when they want). She is now settled in with her wonderful foster, Jordan Rose , with her five babies!

Slow, careful, and proper introductions between cats in key to a successful relationship and a harmonious household!

"You mean we're going to be here together forever??" Congratulations is in order for our friends Puff and Ada who have completed their introduction.

Some may remember Puff as he has been part of the Frisky Feline family since last year. While we've been helping him with training, feeding routines and other things - we know this introduction was a major step not only for him, but his family too.

Their parents have been all-stars in working through very detailed steps of a slow introduction and it has totally paid off for these two. We are excited that Puff and Ada have many years to have cat conversations together! Happy ever after!

Jack had to be partially shaved when he came in to the shelter due to severe matting...but his bare t**h doesn't make him any less adorable or less friendly! He will be available for adoption in another week once he sees the vet!
