Banjo’s Bucket List : Banjo is a special four year old Corgi who has cancer. His parents are focused on giving him incredible experiences and created a bucket list of activities and trips. This is the heart of what we do; difficult diagnoses, aging, and changes to plans do not have to be filled with sadness. Instead, we can focus on joy and cherishing every single moment we have with our furry friends. Thank you to Banjo’s family for allowing us to share this with you all. We hope our clients will consider doing something similar with their pets and find the joy in the everyday routine and moments.

It’s January and that means it’s time for another biannual price hike for services in what’s already a challenging economic climate. We can’t control what others charge, but we can modify our prices to help meet folks where they are, especially when it comes to something as important as helping your pets in their most critical time of need.

White Whiskers Aging Pet Care is a local business and its important to us to take care of our neighbors. So for those of you who see this who think that at-home services for your senior or ailing pets is out of financial reach, I wanted to let you know that rather than raising prices this year, we’re dropping them. We also realize that even with a price drop, the cost of our services can still be a big ask for many people. We’re happy to work with people to try to make this process as easy as it can be and that there’s never any shame in asking for help in finding solutions.

We’re also excited to announce that we plan to open a brick and mortar facility this year where we can provide additional lower cost services for Colorado Springs.

While we love our friends at the Humane Society for all the services they provide to our area’s dogs and cats, we want to be able to provide the same kind of access to end-of-life services they can, but with our unique brand of loving care. Your pets deserve that and so do you.

We’ll continue to keep everyone posted on updates. And please reach out if you’re ever in need of help with a senior pet. Even if we’re not the right service for you, we can help you get where you need to be.

Exciting news! Continuing education is extremely important to us as a team. We want to stay on top of the current research and education to ensure that we are always providing your pets with the highest standard of care. Dr. Kelly has recently become senior dog certified through additional education focused on our white whiskered friends. 🤍🐾

Cats are now contracting avian influenza. We’ve seen on social media lots of misinformation, fear, and uncertainty. We would like to address those fears and help guide you with steps to protect your pet.

1. Feed your pet cooked food only. Raw & freeze dried foods have been the culprit in many of these cases.
2. Do not give your cats dairy products, particularly unpasteurized products.
3. Do not let your cat free roam outside to prevent possible contact with infected animals. Cats are natural hunters, and one of the animals they love to hunt are birds. There have been no instances of cats contracting this from humans or passing it to their humans. However, they have the potential to get it from wild birds.

With these steps you can keep your cat safe and protected. 🐾

We have a fun update for you from Emily's maternity leave! Harmony and Duncan welcomed their new bestie Alice at the end of October. Emily and baby are both doing very well, and thankfully Alice doesn't mind daily dog kisses right on her face.
