Thought you might like to know that i now have my own page containing the wit and wisdom of Lady Eleanor.

They came home yesterday with this thing on a string. I don't know what it is but they waive it about and expect me to chase it. I humour them by doing this for a while pretending to catch a mouse or something. They think I am very clever. Little do they know. They have also started leaving a shopping bag around and think it hilarious when I climb inside and curl up. From my point of view it provides somewhere dark and private so they have done the right thing this time.

Well it has taken two days to get over the latest indignity. The humans took me to the vets and got my lovely claws clipped. Now my woman here has really long fancy nails so I can't see why she would think it is OK to shorten mine. But don't worry, I am already working on sharpening them again and then they'll see. And another thing. What is it about vets that they always seem to want to look under a cat's tail. Let's just say I didn't co-operate. On the plus side, Dreamies have been more in evidence.

I have been having a good look around my estate and already seen off one ugly brute - I think he thought he was God's gift to queens but I soon disabused him of that and he's never been back.

Well, I have been here in this new billet for a couple of weeks now. On the whole all is going well - although the new staff still require a bit of training. Any cat will tell you that it is very difficult to get hold of decent staff nowadays. They need to learn to respond more quickly when I want something and to defer to me at all times. They seem to think that I should not be sharpening my claws indoors. Who do they think theyare?

A lady of my lineage needs to have good food, warmth, and comfort. I must say that they are doing pretty well on that front.

I will close with reminding you all of the song Lady Eleanor performed by Lindisfarne, in my honour. A fitting tribute for a North East cat.
