"A Yorkie puppy's ears usually start to stand up on their own between the ages of 3 and 6 months as the muscles at the base of the ear develop and strengthen; however, some puppies might be "late bloomers" and take up to 9 months for their ears to fully stand up.

Gradual process:
The ears will gradually rise over time, with one ear potentially standing up before the other.
Teething impact:
During teething (around 4 months), the ears might temporarily lose some strength.
Individual variation:
Some Yorkies might take longer than others for their ears to fully stand up."
This is why at 4 months if ears are not standing I will tape them. I've only had to do this once so far.
