This is an article about HH's founder Donna and the excessive amount of dogs kept at her former home, many of whom were dangerous to strangers—further evidence of her tendency to hoard animals beyond a capacity that is safe for the dogs or the humans around them.

Volunteers at the time observed as many as 13 dogs in her two bedroom home at once. She has since moved, and it is unknown how many dogs reside in her current home.

"10News obtained records from the La Mesa Police Department showing at least 28 instances where officers responded to the dog rescue to help round up escaped canines or help people who say they were attacked by the dogs."

East County residents say they're behind a local dog rescue's efforts to provide for canines, but that the facility has been dangerous for the neighborhood.

This beautiful boy, Peluchin , is a new victim of HHGSDR. We still have time to save him from losing his mind and hope in a kennel.

An unnamed rescue pulled Peluchin from OC Animal Care for Happy Hearts on 6/30/2021. He has been sitting in a knnel since he was “rescued.” He initially was kenneled with another GSD since Happy Hearts had no additional kennel space for him. He was placed with a reactive dog who continued to bully and not allow Peluchin to eat his food. Peluchin eventually snapped back at the dog he was housed with, and that GSD has not been seen or located since.

Peluchin is terrified at the boarding facility, and cowers in the back of the kennel when people approach him. He will not take treats from strangers. The shelter treated him much better.

This was Dallas' Saving Carson Shelter Dogs networking post from June 2016, when he was at Carson Shelter. In the comments, there are several out of state adopter offers, a serious foster offer, and so many words of love and support.

If you were one of the many people rooting for Dallas in June of 2016, please spread the word and let the people in your network know that he hasn't spent a day or night outside of a kennel in the time since. The world needs to know what happened to him. He deserves justice.

RESCUED - moved to SAFE Album 07/23

DALLAS is a beauty but he is pretty upset and confused about what's going on. He needs help now. Please SHARE for his life, he is VERY special and a FOSTER or ADOPTER would save him. Thanks!

My name is DALLAS I'm an approximately 1 year old male GSD. I am not yet neutered. I have been at the Carson Animal Care Center since 5/9. I will be available on 5/14. You can visit me at my temporary home at CRECEIVING.

Maverick was "saved" by HHGSDR from Devore Animal Shelter in January 2019, when he was just 8 months old.

In January, he will have spent the majority of 3 years in a kennel.

Dallas has been held captive by HHGSD in a kennel facility since June of 2016. When he entered the Carson Animal Shelter, he was 1 year old.

He is now 6 years old and has never lived in a home, foster or otherwise. He can no longer be safely handled, and spends his days barking and spinning in circles.

If you'd like additional evidence of Dallas' condition, you can message this page. As much as we wish this wasn't true, it is.

If you'd like to help the dogs on this page and prevent others from ending up in their positions, here are some steps you can take:

1️⃣ Share posts featuring adoptable HH dogs from this page and the Happy Hearts FB page. Contact HH's adoption coordinator.

2️⃣ Let your local animal shelter know that HHGSDR does not have 501c3 status. Ask that they stop allowing HH to pull dogs.

3️⃣ Call San Diego and California news stations to put pressure on them to cover the story of Dallas and the dogs of Happy Hearts.

4️⃣ Donate money directly to the vets and kennels HH is in debt to. You can message this page or the HH page for the addresses.
