The sweetest group of roommates at Macalester College in St Paul realized their kitten needed a playmate. They came over and met Wednesday and knew she was just the tiny gal for the job.

He is feeling no pain, on his meds🤪, but our little Pip is home from FHO (and neuter) surgery! Everything went great and in two weeks, we’ll have his sutures removed and he’ll be ready for adoption! A month ago, he was facing euthanasia. Now, he’s ready to take on the world.🥰

HUGE shout-out to RPAW Animal Wellness Center & Dr Hoffer from Twin Cities Veterinary Surgery for taking such good care of our lil’ guy!!🐈‍⬛

Allow me one last sappy post about this special kitten, as he moves out today:

In most scenarios, Simba would not have lived to see 9 months of life. But the universe put him in our path for a reason. Two very difficult surgeries corrected a severe pectus excavatum malformation and allowed room for his lungs and heart as he grew into a VERY LARGE kitten. WE (I’m looking at you!👀) literally saved his life. YOU all donated to make this happen. I hope you all feel as accomplished in seeing Simba get adopted and go off to live his life, because it truly took a village.

My dogs & cats have really bonded to Simba, so I am sad to say goodbye, but couldn’t be happier with where he is headed.🧡💙🧡💙

With Simba moving out later this week, Pip heard there was an opening for the role of “Viper & Ruthie’s bestie”.😄 His audition went well. (Note: Simba’s paw in the last photo - he’s reminding his bf, Viper, he’s still here!🥰)

Friday is the day! Pip, our little guy with the fractured pelvis, will have FHO surgery so he can live the rest of his life pain-free! He will also be neutered, so hopefully his first & last surgery!🤞🐈‍⬛

Well, well, well…guess who’s packing his bags? Simba has finally found his forever family.🥰

His adopters have been following Camp Kitten since last fall, when their daughter adopted Harris (our sweet orange gal who showed up at a friend’s house as a stray). THEY took in a stray cat of their own a few months ago who clearly needs a buddy. And NO ONE is a better buddy than Simba! 🐈‍⬛🐈

From a 2.3 pound kitten with a rare medical condition who required an even-more-rare surgery to correct it, to the most snuggly & affectionate 12.3 pound 😳 kitten I have ever met: his journey warms my heart.🧡 We will all miss him around here, but we have a few more days to soak in his love before he departs on Friday. And we could not be happier about his new life!!!🥹

Well, technically they’re in the isolation coop for a few days, but we’ll be integrating them into the flock soon. Winter isn’t the ideal time for me to take in new chickens, but these two were the bullies of their previous flock, so they needed to find a new home ASAP. I am confident they’ll settle in and be kept in-check by Rojo, my main rooster.🐓 🙂

After much consideration and observation, I’ve decided to let Pip out of his kennel until surgery. He’s still on pain meds and seems VERY comfortable - and was losing his little mind being trapped while his friends got to play. He’s loving his freedom and is giving Adelie, Royal, and Cinnabon a run for their money!😸

Cinnabon is officially available for adoption! Having spent her first 5 months outside (we presume), she might never be a lap cat, but she has warmed up to me really nicely and is super treat-motivated, so I see no reason why we can’t start searching for her forever home.💙🧡

I’m still working on earning Cinnabon’s trust. She’ll gladly come to the edge of her little hidey-hole for Churu.🥰 I love her so much and look forward to moving her out of the dog kennel & allow her the full foster room to play & explore.

When we learned about this poor young rooster who came into MACC as a stray - and was stuck in a metal cage for weeks - we knew we needed to bust him out! He was initially emaciated & had a lot of injuries. The MACC staff got some weight on him and helped get the healing process underway. We kept him overnight (where he LOVED getting in some dust baths & woo’ing our hens) and transferred him to a great farm up north where he’ll free range with other roos!❤️

🔊Sound on!🔊 Cash went from fighting for every breath to absolutely easy breathing. This house is so quiet now!!😂 Cash will be available for adoption SOON!!!💙
