Auggie had a great Thanksgiving with my family…including his canine siblings & canine cousins. He did lots of laps of the table, (successfully) begging for snacks.🧀 He snoozed on the couch for a while after the meal.😴 And he loved sharing the whipped cream off my pumpkin pie.🥧

As winter finally approaches in Minnesota, I’ve got the chickens prepared.🐓🧡

✅ I put rubber gym flooring down in the “living room” (gotta differentiate from the bedroom, right?😄) this year to provide a barrier from the cement.
✅ Lots of good food & snacks indoors, since I know they won’t want to be outside.
✅ Heated bases are plugged in to prevent drinking water from freezing.
✅ And some radiant heat panels to warm in front of. (I do use very well-secured heat lamps in the coop on the super cold nights - I know it’s controversial, but I choose to do it when necessary.)

Looking forward to spring!😁🌸🐔

Five years ago today, Camp Kitten officially launched with our first foster, Macchiato. I didn’t think I was ready yet, but when a starving cat showed up on my dad’s property, it felt like the universe was telling me it was go time!😅🐈‍⬛

Percy is doing so well!! As much as cage rest feels like torture for a kitten his age, I think the swelling in his spine/pelvis has gone down. What we suspected was nerve damage / spinal compression causing a bit of f***l incontinence has totally resolved! He is also MUCH more playful, which tells me he’s more comfortable. I love this little guy so much and can’t wait to see him at 100%!
