Some of you forgot about Adelie, didn’t you?😄 She joined us exactly one year ago with her litter of adorable kittens. She was a great mama and even took on a mothering role for a bunch of other kittens. She doesn’t like meeting new people, so meet & greets aren’t her thing. But she has blended in seamlessly with my crew and now I can’t imagine letting her leave. (It doesn’t hurt that she fits our color palette.🖤🤍) So while I never planned to adopt a fifth cat(❗️), here we are.🥰

Rogue is our sweet girl who was rescued from a parking lot tree during a bad storm at the end of July. She’s still pretty timid, but does love a good head scratch - she’ll close her eyes & purr. I’m pretty smitten with her and think she’s about as beautiful as a kitten can be.😍

Are you interested in fostering a handsome senior shih tzu? I would love to bring this sweet boy into Camp Kitten, but need a foster home for him. He’s 14 years old, up to date on vaccines, neutered, and house trained. Fostering would cost you nothing (Camp Kitten will provide food & anything else needed). I tested positive for both COVID and strep this week(!) So I’ve pretty much just been surviving, while trying to tend to all the dogs, cats, and chickens.😮‍💨

Chocolate, the boss lady of this trio of sisters, landed her forever home! She’s getting two human siblings and three(!!!) feline brothers! I’m already predicting she’ll quickly take charge of everyone in the house.😄

Auggie saw a veterinary cardiologist today! While X-rays can give us some info, an echocardiogram looks inside the heart and provides a more robust picture of his condition.

He was officially diagnosed with mitral valve disease, which is the most common cause of heart failure in dogs. We increased some of his medications today and I was advised against a dental cleaning (anesthesia) unless Auggie’s fractured teeth start to affect his quality of life - so far, they do not.🤞

I pushed (bullied?😄) the cardiologist to estimate Auggie’s lifespan, knowing there are a lot of factors that may impact that. He estimated one year. I’ll continue to love on this little guy for however long he has.❤️‍🩹
(My pups get so excited to see Auggie when he’s been gone!!🥰)
