✨ It was an explosive session!

Having .kayodefemi , Dr. of .ng , and Dr. .am.chinasa of on one stage to discuss the art of winning was truly mind-blowing.

🔹 Dr. Puspa shared how far passion can take a person, reminding us that purpose fuels perseverance.

🔹 Dr. Chinasa brought her business acumen to the table, giving what Dr. Kayode later described as an MBA crash course in veterinary practice management.

🔹 Together, they took us through the hurdles of starting and owning a veterinary practice with honesty and clarity.

This couldn’t have come at a better time for me. As I prepare to launch my own venture, the session served as both an eye-opener and a source of encouragement—showing me that it’s okay to start small, and that passion and wisdom can steer the ship towards excellence.

A big thank you to for being a beacon of hope to young veterinarians, and to the amazing panelists for their openness in sharing not just the how but also the why.

Why You Shouldn't Lie to Your Veterinarian

It's not uncommon for pet owners to withhold or distort information when speaking to their veterinarian. Often, this is done to avoid appearing negligent or to protect their self-esteem. However, these actions can have serious consequences. Inaccurate or incomplete information can lead to incorrect diagnoses, poor prognoses, and adverse outcomes for your pet's health.

Recently, I witnessed a case of ehrlichiosis complicated by enteritis in a dog. The client, initially uncooperative, reluctantly revealed that the dog had been exposed to rotten meats from the local market. During the physical examination, there were no external parasites visible, but the signs and symptoms suggested ehrlichiosis. Using a test kit, we confirmed the presence of Ehrlichia in the blood. Only at this point did the owner disclose that the dog had suffered from a tick infestation, which they had attempted to manage at home before seeking professional help.

This situation underscores the importance of honest communication with your veterinarian. Full disclosure ensures that your pet receives the best possible care and can significantly improve treatment outcomes.

Chapter 3: The Whiskered Heroes Assemble!

But little did Austine know that something magical was about to happen. In the darkest corner of the clinic, a group of animals huddled together, whispering furiously among themselves. They were determined to bring back the brightness to Austine's face, knowing the weight he carried on his shoulders.

First came Whiskers, the mischievous ginger cat with a twinkle in his eye. He specialized in whisker tickles and could make anyone giggle involuntarily. Then there was Scruffy, the lovable mutt with a tail that wagged at lightning speed. His joy was contagious, and his goofy antics could make even the gloomiest hearts break into laughter.

Chapter 4: Operation Smile-o-rama

With a twinkle in their eyes and a mischievous plan in place, the Whiskered Heroes began their operation. Austine, completely unaware of their furry conspiracy, was called into an examination room where a temperamental cockatoo had taken refuge.

As Austine entered the room, the bird greeted him with a squawk that could rival thunder. Before Austine could even reach for a towel to cover.

Chapter 1: The Furry Fluffatorium

Once upon a time in a land not so far away, there existed a magical place called the Furry Fluffatorium. It was a haven for our four-legged friends— a place where wagging tails and purring vibrations ruled the world. And at the heart of this amazing sanctuary was none other than our very own hero, Austine, the Vet Doctor Extraordinaire!

Chapter 2: A Purr-fectly Stressful Day

One fateful day, as Austine entered his clinic, a deluge of animal emergencies awaited him. Kittens with wobbly whiskers, puppies with floppy ears, and even a cranky parrot with a feathery disposition filled the waiting room. The long trail of stressed-out pet owners only added to the atmosphere of chaos.

As Austine darted from one examination room to another, he found himself in the midst of endless meows, barks, and squawks. His stethoscope chimed to the beat of furry hearts, and his hands worked tirelessly to mend broken bones. Every animal looked up at him with pleading eyes, seeking solace and healing.

When a dog starts being aggressive all of a sudden, it's a pointer to rabies in most cases. Dogs will rather take flight than engage in combat unless fight becomes the only option!
