Available to a new 🏠

7yo, approx 16.2hh TB gelding available to a happy hacking/low level dressage home. Has previously raced 3 times however didn’t make the cut as racing was far too much effort for him 🤣 he is cool as a cucumber and great in the heaviest of traffic. Used to all farm machinery and cattle/sheep. Type you can give weeks off and hop straight back on and he’s no different. Fantastic breeding and an old head on young shoulders, he will be someone’s best friend. Loves a cuddle 🥰 He has an injury which I am happy to fully discuss to anyone that makes a serious enquiry however this does mean that he is unable to jump/gallop around on hard ground/hunt/team chase etc. He is available only to the very best homes as I’d like to see him with a job that he loves….hacking (I think the world of this horse) before he heads off to be turned out in the field with my youngsters. Homes will be vetted and please do not apply if you are under 18 and/or a novice rider. Has been known to crib bite when he first arrived back from the race yard/when stressed however once he’d settled in this has now completely stopped. Pm me for more info 🤩

Nearly 21 years old and absolutely loving his old man’s day out at the NF P2P stewarding!

Blessed I can still enjoy this day with him and a big thanks to for keeping him as healthy and happy as he is at his age ☺️

1 whole year ago we picked up a fluffy part bred NF pony out a field in Frome off the back of him being bred by my bestie and me riding his half brother back in the day!

At 12 rising 13 we took a gamble and by god has it paid off! Having only ever seen 4 walls of the same field all his life he was thrown into the deep end and broken in and has since been the sweetest most genuine pony we could’ve asked for!

Today he had a full set of shoes and let me clip him without sedation! He is so trusting, loves people, is always the first one to the gate wanting to go for a ride has learnt so much in his short ridden career!

⚠️COLIC⚠️

We are currently seeing an increase in colic cases. This can often occur in a change of diet or management meaning that Spring and Autumn are the greatest risk seasons for horses.

What is colic?

Colic refers to abdominal pain and is a clinical sign of underlying issues, not a diagnosis.

There is a broad range of reasons for horses to colic. Many conditions ranging from mild to severe and potentially life-threatening.

Approximately 90% of colic cases resolve without medical attention or with simple medical treatment.

In the 10% of cases that are more severe, owners should have a plan in place for potential surgery, medical management in a hospital, or humane euthanasia.

Key signs to look out for:

Rolling

Kicking/biting abdomen

Flank watching

Reduced/change in consistency/no droppings

Lying down

Box walking

Lip curling

Sweating

Sitting like a dog

Increased respiration

Decreased appetite
