Just around a week to go for Flo to have her 2nd litter. She is enjoying her back scratches.
How many babies will she have?
Snow day .... 4 ferrets 1 person... not easy
Playtime in the ferret mansion
Think we have a blossoming friendship 😍
Excuse the mess and dusty floors.. thought I'd let the business run around the loving room before the big post kitchen renovation clean up🧽🧼🧹... i will miss these dudes this time next week most of them will be gone.. but 🤫🤫 im getting to keep one.. little sugarsnap ...
But we are between 3 names - let's see what you think?
Fleur 🌼
Fern 🌿
Faelyn (meaning beautiful fairy) 🧚♀️
Happier post today... look who has moved out of the parents!! This business is on its own and causing mischief!! as you can see they are all full of beans... apart from Mum.. she's not so chuffed and has drew blood twice today, but in time will enjoy the quiet.
First try at water. 💧. and if you look closely you will see those peeps 👀
Think the new toy is a success (note: boys were supervised so I could break up the fights 🤣)
Well fed and dreaming... giving Flo a break and a runabout in the enclosure..
Can't believe these guys are 3 weeks old already
And this is freddy... we laugh because we reckon he is unaware he is a ferret... he has never once opened his mouth to nip anyone.. even as a kit. He is the quietest out of my 3 and is just so easy going... he lovea his oil(as do the rest of them, its a bit like catnip for cats... Great way to get them used ti you) I'll send a link with where I buy mine. You'll meet fergus later.
Morning checks with my furbabies!! A year ago I didnt really know much about ferrets... they are so misunderstood and have a bad reputation for biting. Now I'm not going to lie as kits the nip alot but mostly its playing and the dont realise that human skin is thinner than their brothers and sisters. But like all animals(dogs included) they need to be able to trust you and spending time with them, handling them anddiverting their attention etc they will grow into the gentlest of pets. Flo was my 'biter' it took a long time with her (and some times I wanted to give up and remove her) BUT eventually she trusted me as I did her and now look at her, even around her babies she does not lash out and has become the most placid girl ever.
Kirsty sent this wee film over to me.. this is Finn who we lost in February and miss him to bits.. this is the day he met Flo and brother Fergus... 🥰
