We were alerted to an aussie in Missouri, who's owner had passed and she was on the run and the family was not able to catch her. She had been running for a few weeks. The family wanted her euthanized once she was caught (NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS, PLEASE).

After some discussions among rescuers, the vet and the trapper, we felt like this girl was worth a shot. Funny, her name turns out to be Lucky. Lucky was living in deplorable conditions with her owner at this property. She was hanging around the area and she was hungry. In no time, Big Paw Rescue Trapping had her caught. (Maybe one of their top 5 quickest traps too!)

If you aren't familiar with Ken and the Big Paw Rescue Trapping, they do amazing work in the Missouri area! They run strictly on donations, so we are adding their link for donations to continue doing the AMAZING work they do.

Lucky is currently decompressing and will be headed to her foster home on Tuesday morning. We do not believe she has had any prior vetting, so we assume she will need "the works". Meet Gemma!

Gemma has been in foster for over a year, her foster momma reports that while she takes a little while to warm up to humans, once she’s comfortable…you are hers forevermore! She’s the sweetest soul, with the most loving spirit.
Gemma is looking for that patient & calm human who truly needs that sidekick who, together, can accomplish any & all things! She’s a pretty versatile dog who loves to run around the yard & go crazy, but is also ready for a snuggly night on the couch.
She loves larger dogs who can tolerate her sassy feminine energy, but prefers a home without cats & tiny critters. Roughly 2 years old, this 45 pound snuggle bug has her whole life ahead of her!

“Sweet Sammy was in pretty bad shape when he was rescued by MASR. He’s been recovering nicely since, with proper vet care, medication, and a very good diet.
He was born 2-14-21. He’s full grown and his fur continues to grow and fill in.
He is a very well mannered boy. He is house trained, crate trained, rides well in the car and does well on a leash.
If he had one fault, it’s that he’s a bed hog. 😁 But that’s a small price to pay…He is a great dog. He gets along well with other dogs, cats and kids. He’s hesitant around men, and will need time to get to know them. Sammy is fostered in northern Indiana.”
