Poppy hopes you have all had a very Happy Christmas xx
Poppy would like to wish you all a very merry christmas and a happy new year and to thank you for all your support this last year . She wasnt too keen on the glasses lol ###
Poppy and friend ###
Well its been 3 weeks since Poppy had her operation on her ear . She spent the time hiding in corners , not playing with the other dogs , not eating much , shaking all the time and being generally depressed .
Tonight she is back to normal , running and playing , excited about her food and so much more relaxed .
Welcome back sweet Poppy ###
Well shes home but not happy bless her . Drain needs to stay in for 3 weeks and that awful cone has to stay on !!!
Just dropped Poppy in the vets for an operation on her ear .
She has Auricular Hematoma so it needs to be drained . Will update when she comes home later today x
Poppy chilling with her friends , shes so beautiful ###
Poppy loves her squeeky toys ###
POPPY UPDATE .
Poppys foot is healing nicely after she had her claw removed .
I want her to live without the cone on her head but its impossible at the moment . I left her for half an hour the other day whilst i shaved a neighbours dog , she had chewed her boot and through her dressing to her foot which she made bleed . This is going to take time !!!
POPPY UPDATE .
Poppys stitches have opened which is not surprising really as she has so much energy . Hopefully in a few days the wound will close and dressing removed . Cant keep this beauty still , she loves life so much x
POPPY UPDATE .
Today she went to have her only remaining claw on her back feet removed. She had been catching it and ripped it out one time bleeding everywhere for ages .
Shes not very happy as you can see but im sure she will be fine in a couple of days x
Poppy and Barnaby , two of Merlins beauties , loving life x
POPPY UPDATE . Poppy has had a visit to the vets this week as one foot is taking a long time to heal , its the one i call her stump so not surprising really as shes standing on it all the time . He fitted her with a new boot so her foot would stay off the floor giving it time to heal , its a bit heavy and shes not happy with it !!!
Her other foot has healed nicely except for one long claw which is going to be removed in the next week or so .
She weighs 13.3 kilo and is looking beautiful.
Shes so beautiful ###
POPPY UPDATE .
Poppy is doing very well . At the moment she is having time without her hood but has to be watched as she still tries to chew her feet . I think this is more of a habit as she doesnt seem to be in pain after her operations .
She wears boots now to protect her feet during the day , hopefully when the skin toughens up she will be able to get rid of them . Its just going to be a long healing process.
A short video to show you how she enjoys her life with her friends ###
POPPY UPDATE .
She has been to see the vet and hes very pleased with her progress . He wants her bandage off for some hours of the day so a crust can form on the stump so i decided to take it off at night whilst she was not running around .
Her collar has to remain on for a while as she still tries to bite her foot if it is taken off but that will be adressed when her feet have healed completely .
Shes happy and enjoying her life with her friends x
Hi everyone , today Poppy went to the vets and had the staples removed from her foot .
Her foot is healing nicely but will take time . She only had one claw left on her other back foot but unfortunately yesterday she lost that so she is now completely clawless but she seems happy enough x
Poppy loves sitting in the sun with her friends ###
POPPY UPDATE .
Shes home at long last !!!
She has had her toes removed from her other foot but she managed to chew her foot which is why she has been in the vets for so long .
Poppy has lost a lot of weight but with regular small meals she will be back to normal soon .
I dont think i have ever seen a dog that was so happy to be home ###
❗️URGENT - Charlie is still missing. Charlie belongs to Janice (who has rescued and rehomed over 800 dogs inspired by rescuing Charlie). This boy is so special. Please share far and wide in the UK to help him. Thank you x
POPPY UPDATE
Sadly the initial surgery on her foot has not produced the results we hoped and she is still in pain.
Today Poppy is having all the digits amputated from her paw - we will update you how she is once she is out of the vets ❤️
Here she is with her new boot !!
I think its hurting her a bit which is not surprising as her foot has been bent the other way for so long . Shes not putting it on the floor very much but will give it time , hopefully she will get used to it soon .
Her weight is coming on nicely at 12.7 kg . Shes such a good girl with a beautiful smile ###
AT LAST !!!! Poppys boot has arrived so we are off to the vets tomorrow to get it fitted . Will let you know how she gets on as soon as possible . Thank you once again to everyone who has helped her and made this possible ###
*** POPPY UPDATE - 15th October ***
Beautiful Poppy is doing really well at Jackie’s... she is putting on weight and as you can see from this video is getting along well with the other dogs and moving around well 😍
Her foot that she had chewed has healed really nicely and so at the vets this week she went under anaesthetic to have her other foot accurately measured for a special boot that is going to help her.
All thanks to everyone’s kind donations.
If she could, we’re sure she would be saying a huge Thank you for all the love ###
POPPY UPDATE : Poppy has been to the vets for a check up . Her foot that was operated on is healing well . She had a blood test and results were good . Her other foot is still bent but the vet wants to wait to see if the nerves will recover before getting her a special boot to wear. She has put 1.6 kilo in weight on in 2 weeks .
Poppy is a very sweet girl and is enjoying the company of the other dogs and cats , shes even started to play with toys .
She will go back to the vets in 3 weeks when she has gained more weight .
Thank you everyone for your support and kindness x
Poppy is making friends with Billybob x
POPPY UPDATE. Poppy has settled well in her foster home and is slowly gaining weight and confidence. Her foot is healing well - she will need a boot for the other back leg to help her walk better.
She has an appointment with the vet tomorrow so we will update you then. Poppy says thank you for your continued support ❤️❤️

It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for.. Look at this little girl wagging her tail and smiling... 😍🐾 Thank you so much Jackie Thomas for fostering Poppy, she clearly loves you already! Xx
Today we met with the vet to agree a plan for Poppy. From the video you can see that she has started to get some movement back in her legs. She has been diagnosed with immune mediated anaemia which can be serious however our vet V3ts Veterinary Clinic thinks the anaemia may be caused by the pyometra so tomorrow she will be having a blood transfusion and then being spayed. With the foot she chewed as some of the bones are exposed they need to be amputated. Whilst she is under they will also x-ray her back legs and pelvis to see what is happening. They believe she was involved in an accident a while ago and not treated so you can only imagine the pain she must have been in😡😡😡 We will keep you updated and thank you to everyone who has supported and donated to Poppy’s cause - your help is allowing us to give Poppy a chance of a future❤️❤️❤️ If you would like to help Poppy, her appeal is still open on the following link. This girl has a long road ahead of her. https://paypal.me/pools/c/8Chx413LR1 🙏🐾
**** WARNING - This video contains upsetting images of injuries **** Poppy when found around a week ago, she is currently at our vets where she has so far been spayed (this was urgent due to her Pyometra), had fluids, had X-rays and antibiotics. We will keep you updated as much as possible. She remains paralysed at this time. Xx https://paypal.me/pools/c/8Chx413LR1
