I received more photos and an unsolicited, but very appreciated testimonial from Pinkie's new owners in Wyoming that I wanted to share, because it means so much. They are not on Facebook. They wrote, "Love Story Chihuahuas made our furry friend dreams come true. Thanks to Jill & Cesar, we were able to bring home a beautiful chihuahua puppy that was perfectly healthy and obviously extremely well cared for and socialized. Our new little family member displayed a great temperament from the moment we took her into our arms. The puppy's parents are from international champion bloodlines and their litter contains the most beautiful chihuahuas imaginable. Jill's starter kit and explanation of chihuahuas and their care was most appreciated. Jill is very knowledgeable and patient with questions that are important to the new adoptive parents. It is clear that all of the Love Story dogs, including the puppies, enjoy a wonderful home. You will not find a better breeder or more lovable and adorable chihuahuas anywhere. All the research, all the late-night puppy feedings, all the worry, the expense - I don't know if or when we will try for another litter, but this is the reason it was all worthwhile.

Pinkie (Sonya) is doing very well. She is very attentive and inquisitive. She is quite the snugglebug! She does like to give kisses too! She is soooo adorable. We love her already.

We are in a happy place once again, thanks to you, Jill & Cesar. Because of your insight, courage, and dedication and love for your chihuahuas, we have a new family member. We are forever grateful to you and your family for allowing us this very special opportunity. We cannot thank you enough.

Pinkie just turned 7 weeks old and is available. Her heritage is gorgeous full Ukrainian champion bloodlines. She will be very small at about 4 pounds. Sweet Buddy needs a loving home.

This happy-go-lucky Chihuahua came to Friends for Life Animal Rescue when his previous owner could no longer care for him due to a terminal illness. He's about 6 years old and about 10-12 pounds. This silly little monkey seems to love everyone he meets. He loves to go on walks as well as snuggle up with you. He is currently residing at Friends for Life's adoption center located at 952 W. Melody Avenue in Gilbert and ready to find a forever home to take his next adventure with! His former owner did let us know he will chase kitties, so he'll do best in a feline-free home and in a home with kids over age 5. My dogs want to visit Carmel-by-the-Sea in California. It's rated the #1 Dog Friendly Town in America!

Carmel is located 125 miles south of San Francisco. The city has dozens of dog-friendly hotels and inns, dog friendly shopping, and even a dog-friendly wine tasting room.

Dogs can frolic off leash at Carmel Beach. Water bowls, dog treats, and biodegradable bags are common around town, and many special dog services are available, like dog massages, doggy turn-downs, and my personal favorite - dog surf lessons! It sounds like our kind of place!

Pet-a-Palooza (The Day of the Dog) Festival in Scottsdale, Arizona is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Nov 13 from 10 AM - 4 PM and Sunday, Nov 14 from: 11 AM - 4 PM.

The event's website says activities will include Yoga With Adoptable Puppies, Ninja Dog (a wicked water obstacle course with your dog), Running Of The Bull, The Puppy Stampede, Wiener Dog Races, and Corgi Races. There will be a 70 ft street art installation and more than 90 pet related exhibitors.

Has anyone tried the Puppr app? I read that it's one of the best dog training apps available. It offers 70 tricks and training lessons. Each lesson provides clear written instructions, photos, and video to demonstrate the lesson in action.

The app allows you to track your dog's progress and even awards digital badges for achievements. Both free and paid levels are available. If you want to give it a try, search for Puppr on the app store.

The CDC reported that wild songbirds have been linked to an outbreak of Salmonella. Birdfeeders are one place where birds can contract the disease from other infected birds. Dogs and people can get sick from coming into contact with birdfeeders, or if an infected bird perches on a dog food or water bowl outside (as a few examples).

The CDC has some good advice on the subject and a link to where you can report any sightings of dead birds. Birds usually die within 24 hours of contracting the illness. https://www.cdc.gov/salmonella/typhimurium-04-21/index.html
