💪🏻 Muscle Atrophy

Many people may mistake muscle atrophy for loss of overall body weight or may think their dog has become skinny. Although a loss of muscle mass can be caused by a nutritional imbalance, there are many other possible causes.

Maintaining a healthy muscle condition is crucial for your dog’s comfort and longevity. If you suspect muscle atrophy or notice any changes in your dogs body, contact your vet and a Physio/Bodyworker 🌟

On Tuesday Hugo & George were playing rough house….Hugo learnt that playing with a Bernese can have it set backs!! 😢

There is nothing broken but there is some soft tissue damage in his right front causing pain and lameness 😓

Soft tissue injuries can be very frustrating because ultimately it takes TIME. Fortunately I have an extensive knowledge in canine rehab and a PEMF machine to help speed up healing and reduce Hugo’s pain

Hes getting 2 x 20min sessions per day. Its still early days but he is starting to weight on it just 2 days after initial injury! 🙌🏻🩷

Some dogs will be a little weary of our PEMF machine to begin, it may take a few sessions for them to fully accept the treatment. We never force a dog to do something they are not comfortable with. This defeats the theraputic purpose!

Although he is big, George is a very nervous dog, its just his nature! 😄 I am using PEMF for George to promote optimum joint health 🦴

We all know its so important to keep ourselves healthy to keep an disease or illness at bay by maintaining a balanced diet and keeping fit with regular exercise 🤗 Our dogs are exactly the same!!!

We can’t bring our dogs to the gym (unfortunately!)

Some breeds are predisposed to certain diseases or conditions. The best thing we can do for our dogs is to keep them at a healthy weight, feed good quality food and plenty of socialisation and movement 😊 It’s not a secret, just common sense!!
