Me dragging Sara to another dog show, back when I could bribe her to go/do anything with a Starbucks! 🤣 - not much has changed, Starbucks still works, but I wouldn’t have to drag her to a dog show, she’d go willingly! ❤️🐾❤️

"The results suggested that … g***d retention during the first 24 months of life—are strongly associated with lifelong avoidance of bilateral CCL rupture…Risk for CCL rupture was not influenced when g***d removal took place after the 24-month developmental period."

❤️Ookie’s Story❤️
In 2008 a breeder gave me a puppy with life expectancy of less than 6 months due to severe heart defect. 💔 Her DVM suggested he be PTS to avoid suffering and heartbreak, but she just couldn’t do it, and I couldn’t blame her.
I remember maxing out my credit card because I wanted a second opinion, and then a third. Both my regular DVM and the specialist agreed that his condition was dire. However, a shimmer of hope was given when it was mentioned that there were two known places in the country that were doing a cutting edge, corrective procedure that could possibly give him a chance of a longer life. 🌟
This sweet boy instantly captured the love and attention of everyone that met him, especially my dear friend, Lowaunz (who happened to share his birthdate! -and became his undeniable soulmate and furrever Mama)❤️
With the help of a few friends and clients that heard about his conditions, and one particular, amazing, generous, fellow Cavalier owner and lover, 💕Patti, we were able to arrange for Ookie and Lowaunz to travel to Texas to be considered for, and ultimately have his life saving surgery. 🙌🏻🙏🏻❤️
The procedure was risky, scary and expensive with an unknown success rate, but it was our only hope for life beyond “6 weeks to 6 months.” ⏰
✈️ So, off they went. ✈️
The surgery was a HUGE SUCCESS!!!! 🙌🏻🙏🏻❤️
Ookie went on to live 15 (-YES, you read that right, FIFTEEN YEARS!!!) 🙌🏻🎂❤️
15 blissful, happy years being loved, adored and doted on being Lowaunz’s devoted, loving and constant companion. ❤️
While it wasn’t a shock to hear that Ookie passed recently, I know how hard it is to say, “goodbye for now” to such a big part of your heart. 🌈❤️🐾 Yet, I know my friend Lowaunz shares the same grateful mind and heart for every. single. day. that she had with him. ❤️
She is after all, the one that taught me so many years ago, that things that happen to us are better perceived as things that happen for us. ❤️

Monroe & Cooper’s puppies turned 5 years old couple of weeks ago, so the picture memories are popping up, they’re so precious I had to share! ❤️
