It’s been a week of cuddles, squeaks, and coos.

Puppies are growing wonderfully and gaining every day.

We are already doing handling exercises using Early Neurlogical Stimulation. According to the AKC website there are five benefits that have been observed in canines that were exposed to ENS, including improved cardio vascular performance (heart rate); stronger heart beats; stronger adrenal glands; more tolerance to stress; and greater resistance to disease.

We also spend a lot of time cuddling the pups, touching their toe pads, their ears, and tails. This helps them be more receptive to grooming and handling later in life.

We have an available adult dog!

June is a 2y Chocolate Lab from the Riot x Leroy 2022 litter. As per my breeder guarantee June was brought back to us when her owner had to make a hard choice about their lifestyle not being what June needed. I will always take my pups back to ensure no one ends up in a shelter or rescue. I want the best for the dogs and the owners. And I commend June’s owner for knowing it wasn’t what June needed.

So a little about June!
- FBR I walk the Line (Johnny Cash Reference)
- Pending AKC Approval she has completed her Canine Good Citizen, Trick Dog Novice, and Virtual Home Manners = A very good girl!
- Spayed and Up to Date on Vaccines
- Full obedience trained and Ecollar Conditioned
- Crate Trained
- Potty Trained
- Fetching Maniac!!! Ball is life
- About 45lbs and short so a nice size (fits well in a Large Ruffland Kennel for normal crating)
-Super Dark Chocolate Coloring

I think June would make an awesome family dog. She is a little soft so I do not think she would do well in a house with a dominate dog. She has a Brother who just completed his Started Hunt Retriever Title with Collett Gun Dog Kennels and another brother that is multi titled in Companion Sports (Rally, Fast Cat, Cat, CGC, Trick, and Fetch). One of her sisters is a professional demo dog for a dog trainer in California. The rest of the litter are the sweetest companions for their families. I think with the right personal and some time she could do all the things they do!

Another Pass in the books for the Fowl Behavior Crew!

This is the second Started pass for Bear & Char. Sparx is getting to run although she passed this series in prep for Seasoned in the Spring. Higher expectations for her! It’s very hard to mimick the Hunt Test Environment so we utilize it when we are there.

The club put on a great test and we are so thankful for them organizing the event!

We have exciting news!

We will have Ember’s second and final litter arriving next week! Ember has been bred with HRCH Rip from our friends at Dog Ear Outfitters. Rip is an incredibly social dog who not only is a great hunting companion but a true family dog who has never met a stranger.

Ember’s Xray was today and we will be expecting 6-8 little brownies between Sunday-Tuesday.

Very excited to announce Bear and Char have passed their first Started Hunt Test with Old South Hunting Retriever Club! Both boys did so good. The test was fair and the judges were very welcoming.

Sparx and Haze went along for funsies and extra ribbons. We used the tests as practice as they are training to move to the next level. Both girls still get a little too amped on the line but practice makes perfect!

Shout out to our friends Mark & Shannon for coaching us a few weeks ago and always Collett Gun Dog Kennels for allowing us to practice at her place and teach help us get better!

These little nuggets turn 2 today! We wish Wylie,Crash, Ducky, Sam, Bear, Juliet, June and Raya another year of nothing but the best and all the fun to be had.

This was Riots second and final litter. She has enjoyed retirement thoroughly!

Working hard on the line manners with Char!

Char is a hard charging dog with his own agenda. Thus his name is : FBR Laws Don’t Apply to Me, which has been fitting for him since the day he arrived 😆.

One of the hardest things for him is keeping his composure while waiting in the blind or on the line for release…I mean he is Blaze’s child so it makes sense 🤦🏻‍♀️. His training for the day may be nothing but walk up and be calm and walk away, rinse and repeat over and over. It takes time to make a great Gun Dog and Peyton is determined to help him learn and shine!

Ducky putting in the work! We have been very happy with Collett Gun Dog Kennels care and training of him this summer. He is turning into the hunter we all knew he could be!

Sam has some ribbons to share too! Sam participated in his first Fast Cat Lure Coursing Run and did excellent!

Him and his mom had never competed in a Dog Sport before so this was so special that Sam knocked it out of the park on his first try!
