Domino is such a sweet boy who is also great and patient with kids. We worked on more obstacles today and he even walked around with a tarp on him. He will be for sale in September!

We have been working a lot with getting Domino used to water so we can give him a bath and also preparing to do an actual trail ride.
Today Domino did really well with the hose and I was able to get him completely watered down. He also did a full loop trail ride although half way through I needed to lead him as it was a very new adventure for him and he was even greated at the end of the trail by some of the other horses too!

We have been working on transitions from walk to trot to canter and stopping along with obstacles. We also did some ba****ck riding and he is doing really well, but we still have lots to learn.

Lately we have been working on getting Domino to move by listening to my words/body movements instead of pressure from a secondary source as well as him just getting used to being ridden. It's taking time, but today we slowly limited the amount of pressure and we're able to keep him going.

Getting Domino more used to body language for stop, go and turn. No usual reigns or anything just using the lead rope and husband for caution. He is doing really well and we will continue to work on this before adding the bit or reigns later this week. He is responding so well without the bit or reigns which is super important. He is doing really well with liberty work too.. Remember he will be for sale in September!!!

Today was the first day I was able to ride Domino!!! We just worked on walking forward, turning and stopping. We also introduced some new obstacles which he did amazing with! I'm so excited to continue this journey with him and continue introducing him to new things! He is such a sweet boy!

Today, I got Domino in his saddle!!! I put everything on and took it off multiple times. I practiced putting pressure on him and laying over his back which he took like a champ! He also walked over a tarp and went through some obstacles all with his saddle on and did perfectly. I am also able to clean out all 4 of his feet. I'm soo proud of how far he has come! We will continue working on more groundwork before I try to start riding him. 💕

Today we continued to work on picking up all four feet. We introduced him to the step stools which he seemed to really like and almost wanted to walk up. Lol. We worked on walking around a lot in different directions and also the SADDLE! He did soo much better with it on today and seemed more relaxed. Tomorrow we will work on lowering the cinch and the stirrups to get used to things being on both sides and then slowly move towards cinching it all up! So excited for all the obstacles we are overcoming and the trust we are gaining in each other.

Today was a very wet and muddy day, but I got a saddle on Domino!!! He is definitely not comfortable with it yet, but we will be focusing on this for the week.

We picked up all 4 feet today. He handled a saddle pad gracefully and we practiced in the round pen again. Still need to work his right side more as that is his less comfortable one, but he is starting to cruise through all the challenges I put before him. He is also such a character. :)
