Had my plant lab today! 🥰❤️🌷🌸, the first picture is s pollen grain from a primula “pin” type (the blue flower in the photos), and the other flower is a thrum type, with the anthers on the outside. both types have advantages/ disadvantages.

The second picture is a grass anther where the pollen comes out for dispersal (lots and lots of pollen), the stigma however is a fluffy long organ, almost feather downy plumage like, to increase it’s effectiveness in catching pollen. (As grasses are wind pollinated)

Turns out I was wrong 😅, he’s one of the triops australiensis queensland, as he’s looking very silver now, an egg must have gone into the green ones when I was trying to hatch them, either way I’m glad something has hatched now and is alive and well.

So, some slightly sad news, my triops australiensis queensland have died, I made a mistake and put them in too small of a container and overfed them, didn’t mean too but I’ve learnt, however one triops australiensis green has hatched and at the moment, seems to be doing well!!! 🤞(also going to be hatching more of them as haven’t had much luck)
