Lifegates Apollo has bred again with Miss Bella. We have 10 amazing puppies that are doing extraordinary. All of the pups from their 2021 litter are excelling in their working jobs. Service, Therapy, ESA.... these guys can do it all. Bred specifically for their extra calm demeanor, intense focus and intuitive nature towards their handlers. The puppies have had their first well puppy check and all are healthy and did well with exams. Their birthday is December 13th and they will be available to go to their new homes March 6th after their second round of vaccinations. Good morning Lifegate Family. I'm trying to plan for a group playdate (with agility fun) with all the pups and Apollo and Bella of course. We're looking at either August 7th or 14th, 10am at my place. Please let me know what works best for everyone and hopefully we can make this work. ❤

Lifegates Kronos ready for duty. ❤ Kronos will be doing his first medical assist appointment tomorrow. I'm sure Apollo will be having a fit as he knows that's His position. Kronos was so excited about getting his very own jacket, he was definitely strutting his stuff. I love how he so naturally falls into what's expected of him.

These two knuckleheads are making a mess.....lol. I'm sure everyone's pups are settling in well by now. Does anyone have ears up yet? Kronos almost has his up. Feel free to share pictures 😁🥰
Remember to introduce new things slowly and do not coddle them,, coddling leads to insecurities and we don't want that, make it clear that you're their rock,, not crutch.. Get them out and about in public as often as possible, no public grassy areas or dog parks until they've completed their vaccinations.
Limit their access to the entire house also, this will help with house training as well as limiting the risk of getting into something they shouldn't. Offering something cold/frozen 4-5 times per day will also drastically reduce teething pain and chewing.
You'll want to get their next vet appointment scheduled if you haven't already. They will be due for their second vaccinations and third worming on the 27th of this month. If you're having any questions or concerns whatsoever please don't hesitate to reach out to me, I am here for you. ❤

Having a fun time playing with Mom and Dad while exploring the farm. This is one of the biggest reasons why it's so important to keep the puppies with their parents at least until they are 8 weeks old. They've gained critical training time that you didn't have to do, but you will greatly benefit with a calmer, more confident pup.

One week to go everyone. 😁 I'm so excited for each and every one of you to finally have your puppies home. They will have their final vet check on January 27th at 3:30pm at Western Slope Animal Hospital in Olathe. You're welcome to meet me there and pick up your puppy then.
As far as feeding, they have been raised on a grain free diet with a combination of natural meats and veggies/fruits. The meat sources have been fish, chicken, rabbit, beef, lamb and elk. You'll want to choose a puppy food specific to large puppies, they usually range between 26-28% protein. I do not suggest going over 28% as you want a slow steady growth, so their bones have times to develop properly. I also suggest adding a multi vitamin and joint supplement to their diet (joint supplement should be for a minimum of the first year). A good source of calcium and probiotics is plain, organic kefir - just a splash in every meal. Below are the commercial meat patties I found to be the best quality (they come in a variety of flavors) cut them in fourths and they're the perfect frozen treat while teething. The doggie dailies are a great all encompassing joint supplement. The Omegas and Urban Wolf Balancer have been a part of their daily meals thus far (I would continue to give Urban Wolf Balancer as it's an excellent calcium and antioxidant source)
The puppies are accustomed to puppy pads, dog doors and crates so they should acclimate well with house training. Rubbing alcohol for urine accidents is the best for removing smell and pheromones.
Teething - puppies teeth because their mouth hurts, they hurt because their gums are swollen, so what I do is begin a proactive regimen of offering frozen food and treats. Frozen raw knuckle or joint bones, frozen raw carrots, frozen raw meat patties..... Offer your puppy something frozen at least 4-5 times per day and you shouldn't have any problem with excessive chowing.
These puppies are working dogs and lessons should begin IMMEDIATELY -
1. Do not encourage any mouth placement anywhere on your body.
2. Do encourage calm, focused behaviors.
3. They must always sit for pets.
4. They must wait through any narrow passageway (doorway, etc) until you pass.
5. Come here always ends in a sit.
6. No airborne dog while you're on your bed or furniture. They must always ask to be invited and it's okay to say no sometimes.
7. Do not encourage jumping on people.
Follow these above rules right from Day 1 and you'll be amazed at how calm and well behaved your puppy will be. It's fine and actually necessary for your puppy to get out and about in as many different settings as soon as possible, once they get home. Do not allow contact with strange dogs, dog parks or public grass areas to reduce chances of disease while puppy vaccinations are being completed. Do go into any of your local pet friendly stores and let people interact with your puppy (remember they must sit for pets). Allow them opportunities to experience as many different sites, sounds, smells as possible and at as early an age as possible (start at 8 weeks).
Whomever the puppy is to be working for MUST be the sole provider for at least the first month. We want to make sure that the puppy bonds with that person first. The handler must provide all care along with most training (although everyone needs to be on board with what commands will be used and how) When it's bedtime keep your puppy near you, either in a crate beside your bed or some type of closed off area beside your bed. If the puppy cries do not baby them, you can place your hand to where they can smell you to reassure them...or even give them a dirty t shirt of yours to sleep with.....trust me, they'll be fine.
