Hello! Welcome to the home of our beloved Havahpoo-tzu. First a bit about me. I grew up with an amazing love for all animals. But dogs stole the show and my heart. I bought a Lhasa Apso at 16 and brought it home to my parents. We also had a toy poodle at the time. This was way before doodles and poodles and the obsession with "designer breeds". My goal is not to throw in a bunch of random popular dogs and sell puppies for profit, but instead was to create a breed that carries specific desirable traits sought after by people everywhere. And then to place these babies in loving amazing forever homes with lifelong human companions. Therefore creating a new breed. I adored the intelligence of both the Lhasa and the poodle and loved that neither shed and were both great companions. As I grew I never lost touch with my love for the Lhasas characteristics and regal look. The Lhasa is originally a sentinel breed from the mountains of Tibet, known to keep away evil spirits and alert the monks in the tibetan monasteries to any intruders. The Lhasa Apso later was mixed with a pekingese to create the now ever popular Shih-tzu. A sweet and kind hearted dog, originally gifted to nobles.
Years of living with these dogs, thinking and researching why they were amazing is what led me to a goal of a new breed that shared similar traits but brought the best of all of them. But what was the missing ingredient? The Havanese. A dog bred solely for companionship, they are trainable, intelligent and highly regarded by their owners. They are dogs for every type of home. They are perfect for families, kids, singles or couples, apartments or houses. They love their people deeply and are also low/no shedding and extremely soft. I had found it.
I searched for my dream dog and that led us to Ruby Rain. She was born on a small farm in Missouri, she is 1 quarter each of Lhasa, Shih-tzu, Poodle and Havanese. My dream girl. She did not disappoint. I then found the perfect little guy, a full blooded Havanese we named Cosmo. He is bright, happy, smart, and full of love. Flash forward and we have our first litter of Havahpoo-tzu's. No amazing dog was ever born without great thought planning and a lot of love. I love these animals so much! I believe you will love them as much as we do.
